To buy a cloud
Anna counted the galleons on her hand for the millionth time. 15 galleons, right. She was buying things all on her own for the very first time, and she felt both confident and nervous about it. Her parents recommended that she bought whatever pet she wished, all on her own... A pet that wasn't from home, that is; a pet she'd buy in London. She entered in the store, admiring all the cute and strange animals around. An adorable cat called her attention first, and although she did melt upon looking its little fluffy face, she suddenly jumped back upon hearing a flap of wings and a shriek nearby. When she turned her head to see it... An owl. A
small one at that, likely not an adult yet. Its feathers were white and smooth, and its beak was small and black, and its round face had an overall fluffy look. So Anna approached it, curious and impressed by the little brash owl.
—Aww, you look so cute...
The owl didn't seem like it particularly cared. It came closer to the girl with wings wide open, and pressed against the cage, raising its head high and revealing its neck. Anna carefully reached out to it, unsure if she should be really touching a random bird's neck... Usually her birds back at bome attack people who unexpectedly touch them. But when she touched its pure white feathers, the owl seemed to enjoy it, allowing her to pat its fluffy body.
—Aww, aren't you such a good baby?
The owl seemed to feel quite proud of itself, being patted by this little human. It rose its head high, retreated its wings, and allowed Anna to continue. Of course, everything comes to an end, and so did her patting session. She recoiled her hands, still admiring the animal in front of her. The owl shook its head and turned around, looking at the rest of the shop and no longer paying attention at the girl. However, as it did, Anna noticed a spot of black feathers on its back, contrasting its pure white body. That owl was cute, proud, and different from every other bird Anna had. "Maybe I'll take it! I'm sure we'd become the best of friends!", she thought.
—But what should I name you...? Moon? No, that's my cat's name...
However, as to interrupt Anna's line of thinking, a sudden noise of something falling on the ground scared the owl and the girl alike, but while the owl screeched and threw its wings open, Anna could do no such thing, so she screamed and covered her ears instead, and that way she stood for a few seconds, recovering her breath, before looking up to the owl again. Now that its wings were open and it was turned with its back to Anna, she could now see a form, originated from the black feathers it had; a cloud. A little rough on the edges, a little blurry, sure, but still a cloud. That fascinated the girl, who came closer to the cage, still with her heart racing from the scare, and look closer. The owl closed its wings and turned to the girl, tilting its head.
—Cloud! —She exclaimed suddenly, smiling widely at the confused owl. —Your name is Cloud!
