School Shopping Day
Rose Pearl hurried down the wet road due to the rain and followed her parents into the Leaky Cauldron. "They said it was here...." her father said pointing to the map. Many witches and wizards were found inside doing various activities such as talking over Butterbeer, stirring mushroom soup, and dancing to the live music that was played by a band in the corner. Someone who appeared to be a bard was singing and another gentleman was playing the lute.
"Oh, how wonderful...." said Mrs. Pearl, Rose's mother. "It really is beautiful," she continued gallantly.
Rose waltzed in and sat down with her parents at an open table. "Guys, I need to make friends today. I don't want to be with you the whole time."
"Oh, but we wanted to share this day with you! It's so exciting!" Mrs. Pearl replied quickly.
Her father put his hand in front of his mouth to cover his pursed lips.
"Mom.... It's not like I'm going to abandon you...." Rose stated simply.
"Honey, I understand you need space. Children feel more threatened when other people's parents are there. I understand completely." Mr. Pearl stated matter-of-factly.
"There is no harm in you wandering off today as long as you are careful to stay somewhat close." He responded somewhat to himself.
A barmaid approached. "Here are your menus, we have Cream of mushroom soup and Monte Cristo sandwiches for our daily special. I can being drinks, What will you have?"
"Three butterbeers, please." Mr. Pearl nodded. "Great choice, darling."
