Akari shifted from foot to foot impatiently as she waited in the Amortunnel queue. She had yet to ever go on a blind date, and the unknowingness of who was there waiting to meet her on the other side left her with a slight tingling feeling of excitement. She tried her best to ignore it though, for the idea she was looking forward to this silly little ride was not something she wanted to admit, not even to herself.

Over the month of summer, while the Gryffindor was out of school, she had decided to give herself a little makeover. It only took one random day of daydreaming and contemplation to wake up and realized how she was desperately in need of a change. She’d thrown herself into her studies and barely recognized herself as she became more closed off and driven towards a single goal that was taking up all her time and energy. Now going into her sixth year at Hogwarts, Akari decided she was not about to waste it. It was time to bring on a new era, one that set her up to achieve her objectives while still allowing space to enjoy the last couple years she had left to the fullest. And to the Gryffindor that began with changing up her look. Starting with her straight long hair that now approached her lower back, she took scissors to it and against all odds successfully cut her own bangs. She had her heart set on dyeing it too, however her mother was not too keen, so she had ended up putting a cool toned black dye as a compromise, making her previously dark brown hair much more vibrant now. Then came her wardrobe purge until she was certain that every piece that was hung up in there practically screamed her style. Throughout this time and through these seemingly small changes, she slowly was regaining an air of confidence that she had seemed to have lost, and that alone was shifting her vibe entirely. She was ready for this new chapter.

Today, Akari was dressed in a pair of low waisted jeans that flared out slightly at the bottom and had little embroidery designs decorating both the seams on the front and the back pockets. For her top she wore a dark red top that had a lace trim lining the neckline. The red nicely contrasted her paler features and matched the subtle red lipstick she had put on for the occasion. Silver jewelry adorned her ears and hands and she even put on a little perfume filling the air around her with hints of sweet vanilla and coconut as she passed by.

The time in the line for the ride felt as if it was passing so incredibly slow, but when her turn finally came she bit her lip in anticipation as she made her way down the walkway, admiring all the beautiful decor and the lighting.

She hoped dearly that this would be worth it...
