After dark

I slip out of the Gryffindor common room quietly. It’s a little past midnight, about 12:05 or something. I sigh softly as I wrap the blanket I brought with myself tighter around me. After everything being all clear I find a grassy dry place to sit. I curl up and pull out the book that I brought with me, hidden under my blanket. After getting comfy and settle I pull out some chocolate too. I break a piece off and pop it into my mouth letting it melt on my tongue.
I start reading my book. I hear a noise after being a chapter in. I look up and see a familiar face. Derek Alexander Jay. The last we met was at the summer camp. It was fun. He's a cool dude. He also threw a party too. Last year. Greek Themed if I remember correctly.
I stand up, wrap the blanket around me and walk over to him. I smile once I get over to him."Hi Derek! Haven't seen you since camp! How are you doing?" I led him back toward where I was sitting. I tuck my legs under me and wait for his answer.

Derek couldn’t believe it. Somehow, this girl had persuaded him to go outside after curfew and just relax. Derek didn’t think so. Just in case, he brought a heavy dictionary to use as a diversion. He was that determined to not get detention.
Derek clutched his blanket he brought, burying himself in the warm fabric. He wished that Perseus was here right now, comforting Derek with his wings. He had tried to pry Perseus from his cage, but his stubbornly refused, gripping his cage with his stone hard talons. Perseus had screeched so loud that his eardrum almost burst, so he left him be and go outside alone.
Derek stumbled around in the dark as a inky black cloud covered the silvery light of the moon. When it floated serenely away, he saw that girl- what was her name? Bree? Yeah, Bree. She was there at the party he hosted last year. She was swaddled in blankets. She looked up from a book and said hi to him. “Hi, Derek! Haven’t seen you since summer camp! How are you doing?” “Good,” I replied. “I swear, if we get in detention, I’m going to combust.” Derek grippedd his book tighter and said, “May I join you?”
