It was a warm day in early August, the cool breeze was a pleasant contrast with the dry air. Ada Pushed open the door of a shop with a sign outside that read: Magical Menagerie. It was cooler in the shop than it was outside and the room she stepped into was dimly lit and smelled strongly of cat food. As her eyes adjusted to the lack of light, she could better see the wonder of the place within. Cats and owls, rats and toads, and any other animals you could dream of were stacked all the way to the sealing in crates and cages. Ada was still thinking on what she was going to get when a gruff voice interrupted her daydreaming. "May I help you with anything?" Ada turned toward the white haired man whom she had only just noticed, sitting behind a desk with so much stuff on it, it was a miracle it was still standing. He got up and walked over to were Ada was standing. "Hello my name is Ernest, Ernest Witticker. Did you have in mind?" Ada thought for a moment than said slowly, "A cat, I think." "Any other specifics?" "Well, not really. Though I do want cat that will play with me and that will enjoy going on adventures." Said Ada thoughtfully. "I have a few cats that meet your description." Said the man apparently lost in thought. "Follow me." he said kindly, leading Ada into a dark corner of the room. Cats eyes shined out from the gloom. The man called Ernest Pointed his wand at the lamp in the corner and it flickered to life. "We have a few cats worthy of your owner ship." Ernest said with the air of a very pompous person trying to impress someone much more important than themselves. Ada giggled. He smiled back. Then she turned toward the cats and she knew that one of them was her potential companion. The first cat was lying down on a rug in an open-top enclosure, it's long black fur was prominent agents the pink and white rug. Her amber eyes were surveying every inch of Ada with grate intensity. The second cat had short white fur with a creamy tint and brown and black spots all over its body. Its eyes watched Ada with an expression of mixed curiosity written over it's small face. The third cat was a beautiful Siamese with long fur and brilliantly green eyes. Ada new now who she wanted. "I think I want him, the Siamese" she pointed. Ernest smiled. "Excellent choice." He said as he picked up the cat and handed him to Ada. he had a short tail, fluffy and brown like a rabbits. She looked down at the cat and he looked back at her with a those shockingly green eyes. They were filled with the excitement of a new adventure.
