The letter came one quiet morning in the end of May. At first Reyna thought she had nothing to worry, it was just a normal letter from her parents asking how she was doing. Her third year would be over soon. Nothing to worry about. Little did she know she was completely wrong. This letter would change her life. As she opened the envelope walking down to her room she scanned the note and her mouth dropped open. This couldn't be possible. The letter fell out of her head and her world started to spin. How could things be this bad? A tear fell down her face. Not her grandpa, how could this happen? She raced up to her dorm. She had to pack. She needed to see him NOW. |

The next day after she had time to think through she responded to the owl. She might have been a little angry at her parents. I mean how could they not tell her something this important. It took her almost five tries to write the correct letter. Most of them got all smudged with her tears. She could not focus in class. She wasn't sure whether she should tell anyone what was happening.
She spent the rest of the time before she had to go holed up in her room writing in her journal and scribbling furiously. She couldn't even identify her own emotions. Anger, sadness and fear. How could she feel everything all at once? And most of all why? Why was he dying? And why him? Just when she was getting so close to him with him teaching her healing. She prayed to all the gods in the world that someone would save him. He couldn't die right? Or could he? |
