Truth be told, once the idea was conjured between the Toussaint boy and Siobhan, Alphonse had been looking forward to this moment more than the Granian Derby itself.
That wasn't to say that he hadn't enjoyed himself—the betting, the racing, Geneviève and his tentmates' presence. But a concealed apprehension stirred inside the boy with each passing day until September 1st would arrive. Hogwarts would be the boy's third school to attend, and understandably, Alphonse was nervous despite his attempts to remain nonchalant. Perhaps that was why he clung to Siobhan; the Gryffindor Duelist had been among the first, besides his cousin-in-law, Raizel, who didn't give Alphonse any shit. They actually got along quite well too, based on a mutual respect and similar hobbies.
His first initial introductions to a few students of Hogwarts in February had not gone so well; Harvey's snobbish, sour remarks and Alphonse's retaliation of a crude insult directed at Harvey's mother. Sure, it got that short goblin-looking bully off his ass, but it didn't earn the former Wampus-boy any favors either. But that was the past—no point dwelling on it now.
A thrill lingered in his bones after the closure of the Granian Derby; it had gone as much as Alphonse expected, but the adrenaline from observing the winged-horses race remained. His fellow tent-dwellers would dissipate from the group, and Geneviève would decide to take a nap following the excitement. Like the gentleman the boy attempted to be, Alphonse escorted both her and Siobhan back to the tent; except Siobhan and him had no intentions of napping.
Doffing his fedora while sharing some heartfelt and departing words with Geneviève, he observed as the platinum-haired girl disappeared into their tent. Once she was out of sight, Alphonse returned his hat to his head smoothly before turning in Siobhan's direction with an excited grin.
"Alright, let's get to gettin'," he muttered with a chuckle, leading them to his mother's tent that she no longer occupied, "This'll do, right?"

────────────────────────────────Siobhan had spent a wonderful time with Alphonse and Geneviève at the Grandian Derby- the winged horses had been marvelous to watch even if they had been incredibly blurry. She had enjoyed the sun for the best part, the warmth of the atmosphere enhancing the excitment of the student body. Though when all was said and done, Siobhan was ready to be away from the hustle and bustle of the student body. It was crowded and while a crowd didn't bother her, she was itching for some time away from the hyperactivity.
Thankfully her group seemed to agree with her as they had walked back. She had wandered somewhat floating, in front of the group despite needing to be redirected somewhat before she hit anyone but she was half-focused on walking and half-focused on the relaxation session that the members of their tent were all planning on partaking in. Geneviève was whining softly about wanting to take a nap as she and Alphonse giggled between the two of them like the adorable couple they were. Siobhan thought it sweet that they were able to maintain such a beautiful blossoming romance despite being countries away.
And maybe she was jealous that nothing like that had happened to her yet. But Geneviève was a beautiful young woman and compared to her- Siobhan felt rather ordinary compared to her.
However something that resonated within her soul reminded her that no one was truly ordinary- but rather undiscovered in their own genus. So she mostly put the notion of a significant other out of her head as she made her way into their tent to change out of her Derby wear and into something far more loungable.
She gave Toaster a treat and refilled his food bowl before changing into her trusty white tanktop and a pair of comfortable harem pants. The best outfit paring in her mind. She swapped her opulantly flowerful hat for her typical headkerchief and removed the nicer sandals from her feet in exchange for her favorite pair of birkenstocks. She stretched softly before grabbing her little string bag and emerging from the tent where Alphonse and Geneviève were being slightly too sweet for her taste.
The afternoon air would feel wonderous once it was inhaled and circulating through her lungs.
She didn't interrupt. She didn't badger. She simply let the couple finish up what is was they were whispering about in a hushed tone -something that had made Geneviève peal wih a laugh in her throat- as the blonde beauty departed into the tent towards her unicorn inspired area where the curtains seemingly would open for her as if she was well... magic. Siobhan shifted her weight as she waited for Alphonse to come to his senses.
When the Toussaint boy did, they walked towards where Professor Sarai's tent was and where the pregnant plant mother would have stayed. However due to the imminent arrival of her newborn babies, the tent was empty and thus a very quiet spot for a bit of theraputic decompression. Siobhan slipped her sandals off when they entered the area and walked to one of the more comfortable couches, slouching and letting out a soft "oof" as she was cradled by the cushions. Alphonse had double checked that it was an alright area for them and she had nodded eager to sit down and lounge.
She rifled through her drawstring bag and pulled out her decompression tool. She didn't partake in the lettuce often but it was something she had started using for the herbal properties and medicinal help when the pain in her eyes or her face got to be too much. She swung her legs over the side of the couch she was on and closed her eyes.

Entering his now-abandoned mother's tent slowly began to rekindle the grandeur of having new sisters to dote on since Alphonse's return from camp.
The semi-abandoned tent appeared as if the Haitian herbologist would return any second, but the Toussaint boy knew that notion was furthest from the truth. Both Sarai and Fabian had their hands full with the newly arrived twins, Célienne and Dèlia. Her tent—now only occupied by stacks of notated books, glass vials containing plant specimens, and jarred dried herbs, all of which Alphonse dreaded the idea of packing up later—would now only see use between himself and Siobhan for both daily and nightly getaways these days.
He dared not to peruse or touch her research until the final day of camp out of fear of marring his mother's work. However, one of her small, less-cluttered portable tables would see some tiny flecks and ground-up remnants of Alphonse's very own plant collection.
Planting himself on the opposite side of the couch, Alphonse smoothed out the edges and brought the device to his lips once it was lit. Taking a deep drag, his oak-brown gaze observed Siobhan for a mere moment to ensure that the Gryffindor girl was comfortable. He knew little of her story so far, and rebuked the idea of inquiring about anything—especially her eyes—that would possibly stir a chasm between their budding friendship.
Diverting his eyes back to the scene in front of them, Alphonse cocked his head to the side in wonder. Only 11 days were left until Alphonse would officially begin his education at Hogwarts—his third school within 3 years of his academic career—and the Haitian boy knew little of what lied ahead.
"So, Hogwarts.." Alphonse drawled with a curious and conspiratorial tone while taking another drag, "What's it like? I heard you got houses like Ilvermorny does, that's cool. Maman hasn't said much, and if I'm honest, I'm kinda worried to be a student under her and my tio Akeem."

────────────────────────────────Siobhan coughed with a slight wheeze as Alphose started to question her about Hogwarts. When she had first been introduced to the Castelobruxo/Ilvermorny transfer, it had been brought to her attention that he would be joining her and her peers at Hogwarts for the upcoming year and likely the subsequent ones. He had seemed approachable but despite being tentmates and having spent a little one-on-one time with the boy, he remained a bit of an enigma to her.
Asking about her opinion of their new shared educational facility seemed fitting. She brought her hand away from her mouth and coughed into the opposite elbow as she formulated her thoughts.
"Hogwarts is... Chaotic. I don't know that I've ever been somewhere around or in the castle that hasn't ended in some sort of wack ass adventure." Siobhan said with the slightest of smirks and a slight air of disdain. The vulagarity that had just left her mouth wasn't something that came from her on a general day but more so brought out in the presence of topics that she felt quite strongly about. Hogwarts was one of them. While she appreciated the education she was receiving for her magic, she felt as though she was always around the corner from some aspect of danger.
Most notably being when her eyes had been burned.
She rolled said eyes and took another puff. The air rolled through her esophagus as she held her breath momentarily before exhaling with a soft whisper.
"We have houses... I'm in Gryffindor but I thought I would be in Ravenclaw. I feel as though I am too smart for some of those... beasts." Siobhan stated with a bit of finality in her tone. She truly did think that her wits were superior to many of her housemates and she often found herself groaning at the lack of effort many chose not to apply o anything other than sports. She herself was part of the dueling team but sometimes she just wanted to...
Shake some gosh-darn sense into them!
Siobhan didn't have the energy or care at the moment to make good on that promise as she took another deep drag and settled farther into the comfiness of the couch.
"So... You and Genie? That's moving quickly for only just meeting. How did you meet her?" Siobhan asked as she tried to focus on the three Alphonse figures in her line of site. They all seemed to be talking to her and it took her a few minutes to coherently understand what it was the boy was saying.
It made her giggle a bit as he told her some of what had happened when they had met the first time. Ah young love- she said to herself as though she was an old widow who had seen it all and had 56 boyfriends or something something... Golden Girls...
Golden sauce....
Nuggets. Ooh- chicken nuggets sounded delicious. Did wizards have chicken nuggets? And if so where could she get one. She licked her lips thinking about the potential for a delicious snack.

Time was an anomaly upon finishing a roll of indulgence between himself and the brunette at his side, then another.
During the former Wampus' spiel regarding his and Geneviève's 8-month long friendship upon meeting at Beaubaxtons, Alphonse withheld the breath of herbal air for a second longer, smothering it, before reluctantly allowing a soundless sigh to escape slowly through his thinly parted lips accompanied by a waft of smoke. With a disheartened chuckle, the pubescent teen added irascibly; "—honestly I don't know what's happening between Geneviève and I these days anymore though. She's lovely and.. well, she's always so... I don't know. On edge? I mean, her older brothers beat my ass one day, and I let it go without a complaint to keep the peace. And the next day I punch a tiger shark for her. Yet, all I get is..."
A frustrated chuckle departed from his lips in an air of finality—not bothering to conceal the boy's thinly veiled anguish and bafflement on the matter to his Hogwarts companion.
Quickly recollecting himself after a final drag and subsequent extinguishing of the end against the the dirt, his oak-brown gaze wandered to Siobhan's and a faint smile played at his lips. "Anyways, enough of my rambling—" he drawled, his tone shifting to a kinder lilt. Reaching over, Alphonse gave her shoulder a friendly squeeze as the Gryffindor girl couldn't see the diligent effort to change in his demeanor and keep the atmosphere relaxed and upbeat.
With a featherlight grasp of both of her hands to pry the girl up from the couch, the former Wampus gently coaxed Siobhan to her feet and spoke with an honest grin, "I want to know you; your world, your family, friends. But let's go get some food. I'm starving. And I think you may be drooling."
Though his words were absent a lie, the boy grew exhausted hearing himself speak and refused to take any more advantage of Siobhan's patience with his woes. There was a genuine interest underlain in the teen's playful tone—something about the brunette fascinated him, and after the Gryffindor girl had ever so kindly bestowed the Castelobruxo expulsé with her ears and time, it was only gentlemanly of Alphonse to reciprocate.
As they walked, the Haitian considered her words from before and nodded in thought. "So you're in Gryffindor, hm? Surrounded by beasts—" a light laugh would interject his words, "Can't say I'll be much different, but I hope that's where I'm sorted, since that's where you are."
His lips twitched into a half-smile as they exited his mother's tent and Alphonse found himself squinting through the bright sunlight above. "Gods, everything smells so good. What are you in the mood for?" the boy inquired, scoping out the Quidditch stadium's array of food vendors for something to sink his teeth into.——mentions. @Siobhan McCarty

────────────────────────────────Funnily enough, it was always when she indulged in certain vices that it brought out the primal need to consume meat. For so many years she had been a devout vegetarian that it was a struggle to remind herself to keep on track and avoid the taste of chicken, lamb, beef, or other animals. Having grown up on a farm and with far too much of a bleeding heart for her family's animals- she had taken quite the stance against meat consumption.
Alphonse had been talking and she quickly removed her thoughts from snacks and turned her attention back to him. The poor lad had been struggling with his relationship with her new French friend. Siobhan couldn't understand why. It was so clear to her that they cared quite a bit for their other half. Siobhan let out a bit of a chuckled huff as she pulled her bandana off her head.
"No offense my guy, but you two are rather dense. She's completely smitten with you and its so very clear to me that you care immensly for her. I think you two just need a moment alone- without any sort of reasoning to bring you together aside from wanting to be together. Does that make any sense?" Siobhan mentioned as she put the bandana over her face and counted the petals of the flowers in each pattern. The shapes swirled in her limited vision and she felt the need for a new breath.
The scent of the scorched Earth was far too pungent to excuse if anyone caught them. Siobhan had been sprawled out almost upside down on the couch as she felt her body protesting Alphonse's grasp of her arms and pulling her into a stance. Her hair fell over her face as she stood up in a movement aligned like a ragdoll filled with beans. Siobhan let out a groan lightly as she was forced up and started to move with Alphonse back out of the tent. When he mentioned that she was drooling, Siobhan tried to discreetly wipe her mouth with the back of her hand but instead slammed her fist into her jaw and knocked herself over.
"Oh what the heck-" Siobhan grumbled as she regained her balance by grabbing Alphonse by the arm and snorted lightly. "I always forget I move too quickly than how I feel like this."
As the two of them walked back into the fray of people, the colors swirled wonderfully within Siobhan's face. The smells from the snack booths had her threatening to drool once again. All the carnival foods where wildly unhealthy and there was always the possibility of animal by-products in the food. But gosh dang it she was just so hungry....
"I want something cheesy- Nachos. I want nachos." Siobhan murmured as she let Alphonse guide her around the event. In the small crevice of her mind, she worried that perhaps if anyone saw them holding hands, that they might rat them out to Alphonse's girl. She would hate to come in between the two.
"I guess if you wanna know things about my life- I'm muggle-born and what they call a 'hippy.' I've never been to an event as grand as this one before. My family is rather frugal, and we're quite busy with the farm. I'm in charge of my flowers and orchard" Siobhan explained as she tried to keep up wit Alphonse. He had wanted to know more about her life and under these wonderful herbs it was spilling out of her voice faster than normal.
