 Finished  The Future Ahead  Solo
Logan's gaze flickered out across the vast ocean, saltwater licking at her feet as she sat on the rocky shore. She could hear the calling of the birds as a variety of them called the shore home, the cries echoing along the coast. It was relaxing, definitely much different than the noise at home. While they technically lived away from the city, the noise still reached them. This was much quieter, almost too quiet in a way.

Glancing up, the Hufflepuff turned at the sound of her name being called. Rorik Baird stood at the top of the hill, calling out to his sister with Alexander standing close behind him. They wanted her to return to the cottage. With a soft sigh, Logan pushed herself to her feet and grabbed her shoes that lay nearby, making her way up the hill with easy as she tossed her arms around her brothers in a slight hug.

Nestled close to the top of the hill, but still having a perfect view of the ocean, sat a small cottage clearly starting to show its age. The place had been in her family for generations, acting as a vacation home of sorts for a while but sitting empty for the past twenty years. It would not be abandoned for much longer though. It had been a big surprise to Logan when her grandfather had sent her a letter on her 17th birthday with a set of keys. She was given no explanation, just that she would find out in the summer, and it was a wonderful surprise that summer.

The keys were to the cabin and the summer was spent fixing the place up. While Logan was to live at home until after graduation, the place was hers as a sort of hideaway until then. It was not even connected to the floo system yet, the only way to get to it was by taking the floo to one of the local wizarding businesses and then walking. It was small, with only two bedrooms, but the rest of the property was large. A barn and pastures sprawled out behind the house, a perfect place for her horses and any future animals she were to bring home. The village was nearby, and while not overly populated with wizards, she would still be able to get what she needed. The other advantage to the location would be for after graduation. There was a magical farm nearby and if everything went to plan, the girl would be able to work there after graduation.

Looking across at the cottage, a soft sigh left the girl. While her life had not been perfect, it could always get better, and she could see her future continuing here. "Come on," Logan muttered to her brothers, pulling them along, back to the cabin where her father currently stood on the porch, a smile present on his face as well.
