*IT was a nice day in London, England. But a better day in wizarding, London. The quiet brunette, known as Sybilla Elowen Harrow, somehow convinced her parents to let her go to Flourish and Blotts alone.
We say that like it's hard. All Sybilla had to do was tell her mother she had 'enough money' to go; whether that was a lie or not depended.
That's basically what happens, so time for what the short one thinks is fun! Looking for a book on a plant called...Foxglove? No- Digitalis, yea.
Sybilla heard a group of what she thought were Muggleborns talking about the plant and how it looked. The description amused her, so she wanted to learn more about it.
And that's what's happening. The girl who was only 4'8 and had star patterns on her socks was using her pointer to look through books, wiping dust off said finger now and then, and continuing the search for the flower she was so interested in.
None of the books had her interest, whether they were about potions or snifflers. And yet where was the book she was looking for?
I sure do hope the book wasn't behind the group of kids Sybilla happened to bump into.
The group suddenly went silent, though I don't even remember hearing them when looking for the book. My mind kinda just went blank. I mean... when did they get here!? I don't even remember seeing them in the store.
"I am so sorry! I didn't even see you there."
I was kinda shocked by my voice. When I asked to come here, my voice wasn't this quiet- was it? Never mind that.
I hope I didn't offend these girls; that would ruin the whole library experience for me and them.
Sybilla slightly backed away from the girl she bumped into, gripping the end of her sweater as she waited for a response, well.. hoping for a response so she knows she isn't a complete embarrassment at the moment.

Time for uncomfortable talking!

Every year brought a new opportunity to purchase new school books and that meant a trip to Flourish and Blotts. Maisie quite enjoyed the bookstore, which was full of students of all ages. And somehow, it felt a little nice to not be a first year which a long list of books and supplies to fetch and not knowing where they were. Now she knew well enough where the different genres were kept, except perhaps for the classes that were locked behind the ageist curricula of third years.
She was perusing the Potions section, somewhat eager to find what she needed and move on. (Potions was not essential for duelling, after all. Not that she was good at duelling, at least so far.) Sighing, she scanned the shelves as she felt a gentle push against her person.
"I am so sorry! I didn't even see you there."
Looking across she saw a young girl she didn't recognize. This was not unusual. This time of year, there were so many students in the store—and in Diagon Alley more broadly—she did not recognize. "Oh, your fine," she said with a wave. At least she didn't bother Maisie; it remained to be seen if this were true of anyone else.
Looking down at her and that face she didn't recognize, she asked, "First year? Out shopping?"

It was another good day in the summer. The upcoming new semester still made Rosaline feel delighted. Though she had already been to Diagon Alley to buy her books for the new school year, she realized she had missed something from the list and needed to go to Flourish and Blotts again.
That day, her parents were both at work, so that she would go to Diagon Alley alone. It was going to be her first time entering the brick wall on her own. She used the Floo Net to get to the Leaky Cauldron and entered its backyard. She held her wand. Oh, this is my wand! The notion of using it made Rosaline excited. She tapped the brick three up and two across the wall with her newly acquired wand. The wall magically opened. Though she had watched this scene many times since she was very young, it was cheerful to be able to do it herself for the first time.
Flourish and Blotts wasn’t far away from the entrance. Rosaline quickly arrived there. She had been here many times; whenever her mum needed to run errands, she would be left here and read the books she liked until her mum came back. She knew this place very well.
As she walked along the crammed aisle, because it was back-to-school season, there were new and old Hogwarts students everywhere. She looked through the bookshelves and found the book she was searching for at a fast clip. “Ah, ha! Found it,” she whispered to herself quietly and reached her hand for it.
"I am so sorry! I didn't even see you there."
As Rosaline grabbed the book, she noticed there was a girl around her age, apologizing. The girl seemed nervous. Rosaline thought she should lend a hand to her. When she started moving toward the girl, another girl who might be in an upper year reached out to her first. The help from two people must be better than that from just one person. Though there was already a nice person checking on the girl, Rosaline still asked softly, “Do you need any help?”
