Hogwarts Awaits Me!

As an only child, my mother’s sorrow as she walked me to Platform 9¾ was overwhelming. Her arms clung to me in a warm, stubborn embrace, as though she could hold time still. My father did his best to comfort her. “That’s how nature works,” he murmured. “We raise our children for the world.”

Still, I could feel the tension in her hands, the reluctance in her breath. For a brief moment, I almost turned back — the weight of goodbye pressing hard against my chest. But then I looked up and saw the quiet pride in my father’s eyes. That was enough. I nodded to myself, took a deep breath, and moved forward.

Grabbing my luggage, I turned toward the entrance of the Hogwarts Express. The train gleamed in scarlet, its windows buzzing with movement. Around me, other students bustled about, some with nervous faces, others alight with excitement. The brand-new robes of first-years made a trail leading to the train’s doorway.

I adjusted the grip on my cases and joined the queue, offering a few polite nods and curious glances. After all, we were all boarding the same train — bound for the same unknown.

A long, magical adventure was about to begin.
