Recipe #1
Ingredients:
1 Loving Aunt (infused with boundless kindness
1 Teenage Nephew (growing soul, lightly crusted with curiosity and charm)
2 cups Uncontrollable Laughter
2 heapting cups Gentle Encouragement
1 large scoop Shared Wonder
A handful of "Remember when...." scenarios
A drizzle of Mutual Respect (sweetened daily)

Instructions:
Preheat your home with music, open arms, and the smell of something baking. Let warmth reach every corner. Gently combine Loving Aunt and Teenage Nephew, stir slowly. Fold in Uncontrollable Laughter, add Gentle Encouragement, and sprinke in Shared Wonder. Stir in "Remember when...." stories (include one mildly embarassing childhood tale for flavor). Drizzle generously with Mutual Respect, and serve warm with extra hugs on the side. Refill as needed. No one leaves the table without knowing they are loved.
"Ready for our first ever Family Baking Night?" Aunt Maggie came to his side in the hallway just outside the Kitchen and placed her hand over his shoulder. Simon glanced over to her and the two looked ahead. "I think we need a trendier name than Family Baking Night." He looked over to his aunt who tilted her head as if thinking this over. "Sweet Moments?" she suggested but got no response from him so she tried again. "Bake and Bond Night?" Still nothing. "Flour Hour?" and at this Simon closed his eyes and by the time he opened them she was smiling widely.

"Remember when you tried to cook pancakes for me on Mother's Day?" she asked.

Simon smiled. "Remember when I used salt instead of sugar? You ate them and told me thehy were unique."

"Oh, but they were unique. They were absolutely fabulous. You wanted to make me feel special. You always have, my Sweet Simon," and she pulled him into a long, squeezing hug.

Recipe #2
Ingredients:
1 Loving Aunt (overflowing with hugs, wisdom, and legendary baked goods)
1 Teenage Nephew (generous with compliments, full of hearet)
1 Newly-Minted Uncle (equal parts dad jokes and warmth)
3 cups of Laughter (bubbly, genuine)
4 tablespoons of Kindness (spread evenly across all conversations)
1 jar of Support (open often, especially during dreams and doubts)
a handful of Shared Stories (passed around)
a pinch of Serendipity (because love like this can't be planned)
All the Love (use freely - never runs out)

Instructions:
Start with a strong base of Aunt's love. Let it simmer, it's the foundation of everything delicious. Gently fold in the Nephew's wit and charm, let it sparkle through the mixture - he'll naturally lift every moment. Add the Uncle slowly, allowing his humor and steadiness to blend in. Stir well until the house echoes with shared laughter and love. Whisk together kindness and support until smooth, pouring it over every plan and every problem. Let the whole mix beautifully together.
"Are we whisk takers ready? After all, life is what you bake it," Mark came up behind them and brought his hand on each of their shoulders. Simon glanced over to his uncle and smiled widely at all the usage of puns. "We should call this Knead and Nibble Night or something; something more than Family Baking Night." Simon smiled since it mimicked the conversation just had in the moment's prior but said nothing. "I was thinking Flour Hour," Simon said, stealing his aunt's idea. She gasped. "I love that!" she laughed, not calling him out for stealing her idea, and then motioned for the two to follow her into the Kitchen.

Recipe #3
Ingredients:
1 Loving Aunt (warm-hearted, laugh-ready)
1 Loving Uncle (dependable)
1 Loving Teenage Nephew (with unexpected wisdom)
1 Baby Daughter (giggly and wide eyed)
3 cups of Laughter
2 overflowing tablespoons of support
A heaping bowlfull of kindness (no need to measure, just keep adding more)
All the love you can stir in

Instructions:
In a cozy kitchen, place Loving Aunt and Loving Uncle together. Let them simmer gently in mutual admiration. Add in Tenage Nephew and fold in the Baby Daughter with care. Stir constantly with patience and support. Let everything marinate in kindness and love.

Simon looked around the space. Maeve was seated in her high chair, bib adorned, and ready for Flour Hour. Simon came over to her side and kissed the top of her head before pulling out his phone where he had previously looked up some cookie recipes. "I bet I can make my cookie fluffier than yours," he said and glanced up to his uncle. He was met by Uncle Mark narrow his eyes dramatically. "You're on. May the best baker win," he said as he tossed a whisk in his hand like it was a sword.

"You two are both up against a losing battle," she said as she pulled a bowl from the counter in front of her and Simon knew that he and Uncle Mark both knew she wasn't wrong. Aunt Maggie owned a five star bakery in London and certainly had them both beat.

Maeve, nearby sitting in that high chair splashed her hand through a small bowl of flour and water that she had been given. It would splash up on her face, causing her a great shock before she'd stop, blink, and then giggle loudly - before repeating the process all over again. The others in the kitchen would join in, filling the home with laughter that could be heard throughout - even where the dog rested, the rat slumbered, and the owl relaxed.

It was a good distraction while they waited for the last, and newest, member of the Kincaid-Prescott family.

Serves: one joyful home, with seconds for everyone
Cook Time: a lifetime of little moments
Once Clara arrived into the Kitchen, their family was complete and Flour Hour, Family Baking Night, or whatever one wanted to call it could now commense. Aunt Maggie stepped forward, waving a large mixing spoon for attention. "Tonight, I retire from baking. The kitchen is yours!" she said and took a bow as if that would make it more official seeming. "You three," Simon watched as she pointed to him with the spoon, then to Clara, then to Mark, "....will be participating in a head-to-head baking competition. You'll be competiting for the coveted title of Dessert Royalty. I shall be the judge," she said and stepped back and closer to the baby to use a nearby rag to wipe down the tray of the high chair. "Ready?" she looked down at the baby a nd smiled to her. "One, two.....let them bake cake!"

Cake? Simon had only looked up cookie recipes. He sighed, knowing he wouldn't have time to look up a recipe and he supposed that would only be fair. He knew Uncle Mark wouldn't be doing so, nor would Clara.

First thing was first, Simon reached his hand out to his baby cousin. "Wish me luck, Maeve," he said and she kicked her legs and clasped her little baby hand around his finger. "Ba!" she muttered in what Simon determined was her own way of saying something along the lines of "You've got this, Simon!" He did have this as he had helped make desserts for Aunt Maggie's bakery many times.

He was going to make a lemon layer cake. It looked like Clara was going for a strawberry shortcake based on the ingredients she had grabbed, and Simon had overheard Uncle Mark declare he was setting out to make chocolate lava cakes.

The baking began!

Simon mixed up his ingredients, sure not to mix up salt for sugar this time and kept his eye on the competition. He was glad he had grabbed everything before starting because it seemed that Uncle Mark was using every bowl in the house within the first 10 minutes to where Clara had to wash one of hers just to reuse it. She was calm though, collected, and worked with such precision that it felt a little intimidating. But no, Simon had this. He even knew to beat in each egg one at a time when mixing the cake, and then to make the lemon curd before the lemon buttercream so it could sit in the fridge to thicken as it chilled.

There had been a lot of playful banter, sharing of ingredients, smiles and laughter shared.

Somehow Uncle Mark ended up with batter on the ceiling and some on Maeve, which she was thrilled about, and in the end had one suspiciously lumpy cake. Clara garnished hers with fresh strawberries, and Simon's looked like it could be sold in Aunt Maggie's store the next day.

Once finished, Aunt Maggie sat at the counter in a tall barstool, trying to sit like some Master Chef Judge and look as serious as one. "Slightly collapsed...." she said of the lava cakes. They were a little undercooked but very chocolatey - according to her. Clara's shortcake was described as beautifully plated and with balanced flavors. Simon's lemon layer cake was described as bright, fresh, and inviting. "This looks gorgeous!" she said and Simon smiled, glancing over to his Uncle Mark and mouthed 'gorgeous' to him to rub it in. "I love the fresh lemon zest sprinkled on top - it's like sunshine on a plate. The layers are nice and even," and she tried her bite. "Mhm, the balance of sour and sweet is spot on," she said after swallowing her bite. "This is the kind of cake I'd be proud to sell every day. Sorry Mark, Sorry Clara, we've got ourselves a winner. Congratulations, my Skilled Simon!"

With more curiosity on how good Simon's cake really was than anything else, Mark and Clara grabbed some plates and a slice to taste the creation from the Dessert Royalty.

But Simon wasn't the only winner, not by any means.

The entire Kincaid-Prescott household had learned: life's sweetest moments were baked with family by your side.

Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)
