Camille’s shopping trip to Diagon Alley with her aunt had been rather successful so far. She had already gotten her school robes and a couple of other things off the list. Next up was a store she was very excited for, the bookstore Flourish and Blotts. It is no surprise to anyone who knows her how excited she was to shop for her textbooks. She always loved reading in general at home for fun and was definitely big on her studies, so getting her books for school today was something fun for her since she wanted to start reading them as soon as possible. She still had a month to go until the start of school and although she would be away at the summer camp for part of it she wanted to prepare herself for the year ahead as best as possible.

Her aunt held the door open for her and she stepped inside, immediately amazed by all the books that lined the shelves in every direction. There was a lot of other students and their families there, much like the other stores, gathering their supplies for the year as well. Camille looked around, unsure where to start looking. She pulled out her list and read over the names of the books. “I’m going to be over there looking at some books, come find me if you need anything okay?” Her aunt Sophie said and Camille nodded, watching her walk off to another part of the store. Camille walked over to one of the shelves, glancing over the titles on the book spines until one caught her eye. “Ah hah! Come with me,” she giggled softly as she pulled the Magical Theory book off the shelf.

She held the book in her arms as she scanned for the others, moving from shelf to shelf and slowly starting to collect some of the books she needed. As she went thru her list she realized she was missing a book, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'. Camille looked around but seemed to not be able to find the book anywhere. She noticed a girl standing nearby and decided to try and ask her for help. "Excuse me, do you know where this book is?" She asked softly to not disturb other shoppers.

Back to school shopping was one of Ellie's favorite things. It was a good thing to take her mind off... all that had happened that summer. Ellie stopped in front of one one of the shops, Flourish and Blotts. Ellie smiled. She remembered her first time here looking for school books last year, she had forgotten something and the line became so long! Ellie walked into the shop and took in a breath of the fresh smell of book pages.

She walked over to a shelve and began looking for the books she needed for her second year when she heard a voice beside her asking if she knew where a book was. She looked over and smiled. It was a girl, asking if she knew where the book Fantastic Beasts and where to Find them. Ellie smiled, A first year! Ellie remembered getting that book last year. It had been rather exciting and the author, Next Scamander, seemed quite proud of his work. Of course, based on the way she had read it!

"Yeah sure, I can take you there." Ellie said and started walking over to the shelf where the book was sitting. Ellie looked behind her to make sure the girl was following. "What house are you hoping for?"

Camille couldn’t help but smile widely when the girl agreed to help her, she was truly a little nervous to have to ask someone older for help but this girl seemed to be very sweet already. She followed quickly behind her as she led the way, looking up at the girl as she spoke. Camille thought for a second at the question. She had thought about it a little bit but she also knew what her family was hoping for too so she wasn’t sure what she preferred honestly. “Well my mother would love to see me in Slytherin like her, which I wouldn’t mind but other than that maybe Ravenclaw? I could see myself fitting in those but I could see maybe reasons for the other houses too!” She answered excitedly. The possibilities were really endless for which house she ended up in since she truly would love whatever house she gets. “Whatever house I end up in though, I want to do my best and make it to the top of my class!” She beamed as she said this, hoping the girl would understand her sincerity for wanting to excel.

They walked towards some other shelves and Camille couldn’t help but be curious about the girl who was helping her. “What house and year are you in?” It would be awesome if the two ended up in the same house and Camille would have someone around that she knew in her first year. She kind of hoped for it now since she would love to be able to have the help of a kind upperclassman to help her with her studies. “Oh my name is Camille, by the way, Camille Pruitt!” She said and reached her hand out to the older girl.

Ellie smiled when the girl mentioned wanting to be a Ravenclaw, Ellie had too, as she came from a long line of Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws so really both of those would be fine. The girl seemed so excited about being sorted, it was contagious, Ellie was starting to feel excited to, and she had already been sorted! My first time witnessing a sorting! The girl mentioned wanting to be the top of her class, and Ellie couldn’t help but smile again, the girl seemed so much like her.

“I’m in Hufflepuff. Just my second year.” Ellie said, in response to the girl’s question of her house. “Proud badger!” No reason to tell the girl she had also been hoping for Ravenclaw when the hat first slid on her head.

They had already reached the shelf with the book but the girl seemed more interested in talking than grabbing the book, which was fine since Ellie didn’t mind talking, even though some days it was hard after her grandma had passed, today was a good day, one where she didn’t randomly break down.

"Ellie." Ellie said when the girl asked her name, and with a smile she said, "Randensmith, Ellie Randensmith at your service ma'am."
