Landon had only two weeks left before he would be leaving for Hogwarts, and he wanted to spend a lot of that time in the muggle world, a final farewell, as the next time he came back he would truly be a wizard.
Walking along the sidewalk, throwing an American football up and down, up and down, repeatedly, he observed the people travelling on the street. There were adults and children, teenagers and pre-teens, not to mention the crazy amount of cars on the crowded road.
The smell of car exhaust faintly in the air, his sneakers making a quiet sound every time he stepped, Landon wanted somebody to talk to and have some fun with. Anybody his age would do, as long as they would put up with his reckless behavior.
He arrived at an intersection, some cars zooming by and others stopped. Jay-walking, Landon crossed the road, walking to the front of his friend Cole's apartment building. He picked up a small rubber band and aimed it for the window of his friend's room, making a loud thonk when it hit it.
A few moments later, Cole popped his head out of the window.
"Yeah, sorry mate, can't go with ya right now, got some work to do!" He called down to Landon, who gave a disappointed nod.
"Maybe later?" he asked his friend, his neck aching from looking up to see Cole.
"Sure, mate," Cole agreed and then shut his window, leaving Landon alone once more.

Siobhan just had to get out of the house, her dad wasn't equipped to handle a somewhat magical child by the looks of things and she was about to tear her hair out if Evan asked her one more question about magic. She didn't know much, except what her mother's letters had told her of it. Her dad had rented a hotel room in London, as her mom's letters had mentioned that those wizarding kids get on a magical train at King's Cross, and 'she wouldn't like her daughter to miss a chance at making friends, even if it meant traveling to a new country, just to wind back up in your old one.'
She rode down the street on her skateboard, zipping between people on the sidewalk. She people watched steadily. Here, people had a cleaner accent than they did in her home city of Glasgow, but they were much the same, some hurrying to do the things they'd like to do and others enjoying an easy day with friends. She hoped that maybe she could find a friend her age to have a lazy day with.
She noticed a boy around her age throwing a football up in the air. 'Perfect,' she smirked and kicked off the sidewalk, getting closer to the boy. Without warning, she snatched his football out of the air, and continued riding on.

Snatched.
His football had been snatched.
Not even stolen, or taken. Snatched. The word snatched just sounded so sudden and helpless, which was the scenario. A skateboarder zipped by, a hand outstretched, and snatched Landon's football.
There was only one thing to do. Get it back.
Now, Landon was not going to let anyone successfully outsmart him. He obviously couldn't outrun a skateboarder, and a skilled one at that, without a board of his own (which was conveniently back in his home in Glasgow). But if something happened that would make her stop, maybe he'd have a chance to get his stolen item back.
Running after her, the plan came to him. Chasing her and driving her the direction of one of the streets with a dead end, he'd make her have to stop and be able to catch her. Or so he hoped.
Landon began to run after, smirking at the little game they seemed to be playing. He was a pretty good runner, but even with the extra speed couldn't catch up to the experienced skateboarder completely.
As he weaved through pedestrians lining the pavement of the London streets, and the vendors and small kiosks which probably were all scams, he nearly lost sight of the football thief. But, he noticed the fast moving girl, and resumed his chase, losing no distance at all in his small confusion by cutting across the busy road.
The cars all honked, but Landon didn't care.
He wasn't gonna let anyone steal something from him.

She smirked, as she pushed her skateboard even harder. Glancing back from time to time when she could, she could see that the boy was trailing after her, ever closer and yet still so far away, having to run after a skateboarder. 'I'm glad,' she thought to herself, 'this is perfect really. Maybe when I stop I can get to know him, maybe even score a friend. And if not, well, at least I had some fun even in London.'
As she pushed on, she thought of the streets, somewhere had to lead to a dead end yes? She could see that the boy behind her was beginning to tire, after all he was running after someone on a skateboard, her on a skateboard and just by chasing her it was very draining.
'I should end this farce soon,' she thought to herself, as she pushed her skateboard to turn from a busy intersection to a neighborhood street. 'Maybe he'll forgive me for stealing his football if he knows I only wanted to meet a new friend and he seemed cool.' Nodding to herself she slowed her board to near walking pace, before carefully stepping off, and popping it into her hand.
"So," she said as she carefully turned around, "I hope you're not too mad that I snatched this from you," as she threw the ball into the air.
