Siobhan was hauling her backpack and a rowdy cat through the field of tents as she tried to navigate her way into the assigned tent of her Summer Camp activities. She had been lead about halfway by one of the chaparones- but then a slight inconvienence arose which resulted in the attention from her being taken away as the issue took precedence over escorting her towards her tent. In her hand, she had written instructions on how to find her tent should she find herself lost, which were beginning to come in handy.

As she walked, with Toaster in tow, she mused over how her eyesight was fluctuating ever since the beginning of summer had occured. She had been to St. Mungos at least once a week and it was beginning to take a toll on her family's finances which sent her into a great swirl of anxiety. While her parents wanted her to recieve the best care possible no matter the cost and dire situation it put the family in, Siobhan couldn't help but feel as though she was taking advantage of how adaptable her parents were becoming just to make sure that she wasn't feeling left out or insufficient around the house.

Soon, she was able to locate what she believed to be her tent as she approached a patchy and leathery looking dragon. She could see the vague movement of the slumbering beast as she cautiously approached the opening. The sound of the snores was rather soothing as she attempted to find her area that she had been assigned. Toaster scampered around as her hand guided her along the somewhat wall like walls until she found the little braille sign that had the words "Siobhan McCarty. Niffler Nook." embedded in the wood. The area was vibrant in both color and feel, which was perfect for the deteriorating eye-sight that she was faced with allowing her to see without needing to see.

After slipping her sandals off, she could feel the plush carpet that covered the little area that she would inhabit for the duration of camp. The colors were shades of greens and yellows which matched perfectly with her aesthetic and would do nicely when she was ready to wind down and relax for the evening. Toaster meowed as he chased something shiny and jumped into what could only be a mountain of cushions in the corner. Her bed was a circular cove which she could curl up in and pull the shade over to keep the lights out and inside, a twinkly starlight enchantment to fall asleep too. She smiled and started to setup her belongings in the little nook. As she unpacked some of her belongings and hung up her nicer sun dress which was supposed to be for the nicer events, Toaster waddled over with something hanging out his mouth.

Upon first glance it looked like a piece of rubbish but the way that he was gnawing on it, something was amiss.

"Spit that out- Hey give me that!"

Siobhan tried to grab whatever it was that Toaster had in his mouth. It looked shiny, and possibly something that her dumbass cat could choke on.

When the announcment of Summer Camp had come up Siobhan hadn't been very excited and spent the day in the Greenhouse sulking. Professor Toussaint had been exceptionally kind to her and had spent their lunch that day describing the tent choices and explaining how she would be able to still enjoy the festivities without feeling excluded. Even today, she had been supposed to be escorted to the tent she had picked by Professor Toussaint, but something had come up and so another adult had escorted her about halfway.

She had been so happy to find a mentor figure in Professor Toussaint. She had worried that after her accident she wouldn't be able to find any sort of pride to give her Professors. However, while Professor Toussaint had not allowed Siobhan to remain in her pitiful state for longer than about a week before she had started to push her back into the throws of being a normal student once again. It made her feel good to know that someone was looking out for her when her parents couldn't.

Toaster managed to evade capture and slipped out of her area in the tent, causing Siobhan to have to chase after him.

"Toaster!"

Siobhan lunged at him and as she did, something fell from her pocket in front of the feet of another student.

early afternoon, 11th of august in the tent, london quidditch stadium

To say his head was on a swivel, would be an understatement.

Much to the annoyance of his temperamental younger brother and hormonal mother, Alphonse couldn't help himself from the growing antsiness in his bones. Frequent owls and parcels exchanged between him and a particular Geneviève during the summertime only did so much to quell the void. Sure, the last time the Toussaint boy earned the ill-gained privilege of being in Geneviève's presence, it wasn't under the best of circumstances, yet it didn't dissuade him. He longed to see the Beaubaxtons' girl again—hopefully without the ass-beating this time.

In his hands were soft-pastel blue flowers for her as Alphonse stood idly nearby his assigned tent; his gaze scouring the bustling London Quidditch Stadium in hopes of a sight of Geneviève's arrival. Over time, the Toussaint boy began to grow discouraged and also a touch distracted. His face scrunched with worry watching his overly pregnant mother bustle around to assist where she could, but thankfully, most were either respectfully shooing her away or only allowing her to perform simple tasks achievable with a wand.

He sighed. All the arrivals were directed towards the circus tent, where the scent of different foods wafted into his nostrils; it all smelled so heavenly, but risking missing Geneviève was far too great a concern.

Just as Alphonse was about to turn tail back to his assigned tent to stow the flowers for safekeeping, a feminine voice shouted "Toaster!" that caught the boy off guard before giving chase to a black flash across the ground. Next came a lunge in his general direction, and Alphonse inched away from the girl barely before sensing something fall to his feet.

His blood suddenly ran hot; Sarai would no less gouge Alphonse's eyeballs and feed them to Badriyah-Abuk if the woman knew of her son's contraband:

"Fuck! My-!" Alphonse frantically muttered in a panic, quickly reaching towards the ground just as his hand collided with another.
"My p-" a girl exclaimed in unison, attempting to snatch it away, "Yours?!"

His gaze narrowed initially at the audacity of the brunette girl before him. Londoners were something else; they didn't even have the courtesy of robbing people blind—no, they did it straight to people's faces. Man, that's fucked up. Alphonse knew the hustle and would have respected the girl's moxie—only if he wasn't the recipient of it.

"Yours?!" Alphonse echoed with astonishment. His non-flower-holding hand hurriedly patted down the front of his sweatshirt, then exhaled in relief, "Oh shit. Yeah, my bad. Sorry."

Geneviève was skipping gleefully through the sea of tents and students from across the world as she looked for the area that Alphonse had described to her. She was so excited! Alphonse had listed out in quite the amount of detail what the tent would be like that they were staying in when he had officially invited her to the event. Though Geneviève had initially wrinkled her perfect nose at the thought of camping in a tent, the idea that their tent style was designed to emulate certain magical creatures fascinated her.

Of course she had immediately picked the Unicorn area and had outwardly all but begged for it. Unicorn's were so beautiful and she believed that if she was to come back as any animal, she would come back as a Unicorn.

As she skipped through the area looking for the tent location, she finally noticed the familiar curls and back of Alphonse who seemed to be distracted by something as he was frantically patting his chest. Did he drop something? She hoped it wasn't important.

Sneakily, she decided to spook him by creeping up behind him. With a giggle, she covered his eyes with her hands and stood on her toes to cheerfully sing towards his ear (he was too tall now for her words to fully reach his ears) "Oh Alphie!"

It didn't take long for him to turn around and wrap her up in a hug. His hugs were the best and her voice let out the happiest of laughs as she embraced him for the first time since their unfortunate last meeting. The minty smell of his aftershave mixed with a slightly heavier scent of... something herby greeted her nose like an old friend. It warmed her heart and brought a pink tinge to her face as she remembered how it felt to be adored by him and to adore him in turn.

Their affection for one another had very clearly been growing as their letters back and forth grew more personal and more adoring. His words to her were filled with sweetness and excitement as he told her all about his summer and how he missed her, and the excitement over his new siblings. She wondered how his mother was doing. She had not seen the Hogwarts Professor since the unfortunate incident at the Spring Ball that Hogwarts had hosted. She still had nightmares about the fire and Alphonse leaving her. The rational part of her knew it was because his mother was pregnant and the babies needed to be protected. But in her nightmares, it was as though she was already engulfed by the flames and everytime without fail, Alphonse would turn away from her.

She hadn't told him about the nightmares. She didn't want him to think he would ever have to pick between her and his mother. In the end if it ever came down to it, she knew in her heart that Alphonse would pick his mother in a heartbeat and she expected him too. But the flames in the Garden still licked at the heels of her nightmares and in the deepest trenches of her fears, she could feel the warmth threatening to overpower her.

But that was nothing she wanted to think about now. Spotting the flowers in his hand, she squealed as she placed a peck on the crest of his cheek.

"Oh Alphie! You brought me flowers! You charming devil you!" She squealed with delight as she took the flowers from him. Upon moving the flowers, she saw the sight of another girl who was standing up and -Ma parole- what happened to the girls eyes?? Almost everything about the girl before her was similar to that of a woodland elf except for those somewhat dead white eyes. Everything else about her was beautiful though.

"My apologies, I am Geneviève Caussade. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She flipped switched, back into her proper upbringing. The girl looked mildly surprised or perhaps it was just the expression her eyes were set in, but otherwise somewhat peaceful.

❂ ⌜ A Summer Camp Tale: Nothing BEATS a Jet2 Holiday ⌟ ❂

She wasn't supposed to be here, she didn't want to go but between having a chance of getting a tent with only her as an occupant and making her parents worry back at home for being so distant, she’d rather gamble on that small percentage of being alone. She had caused them so much worry already ever since she had broken her wand and even when she tried to assure them that it was fine but she could tell her mother and father weren't buying it, being able to see through the mask that she had put on. That was the only reason why she had told them she would like to go to summer camp. It pained her to see them worry too much.

When she arrived where the event was taking place, she had prayed to stay in a tent where there weren't a lot of occupants or even none at all except her. Knowing her luck, however, it wouldn't be giving her a chance for a peace of mind. Okay, maybe the ones possibly joining here were people that she could easily click with. She just wishes they weren't close friends. Much like how she's avoiding her parents, she too would like to avoid her friends. Not when all she could show them was a tired frown that had become her default expression nowadays and not when she was considering shady methods just to finally get what she had been seeking for a long time.

She asked for the tent and didn't look back. She didn't even look at the list of folks who would be joining her, wanting to settle there fast, pick a bed and go on her way. Bonus points if the rest of her tentmates weren't there yet. Again, knowing her luck, that won't be possible. So while disappointed when she had arrived where their dragon-like tent was, she wasn't surprised to see a bunch of people there although it made her curse inside upon seeing some of them looking so familiar. Alphonse Toussaint, her uncle Oziel Toussaint’s nephew on his side of the family and he was the son of their Herbology professor as well if her memory serves her right. She had met him during the visit to Beauxbaton. Not a bad guy if she were to be honest even after hearing the vulgar remark he made during that time. In fact, she was more impressed but of course she couldn't say that out loud when he was talking to Harvey. Then there's Siobhan McCarty. Not someone she had talked to that much even if she were one of the duellists in their duelling team. Raizel was kind of concerned about those eyes of hers. Then there's… a lady… who?

Raizel didn't speak, she didn't announce her arrival. She's just waiting for them to finish what they were doing first before making her move and going inside. She stood there, watching whatever was unfolding in front of her.
