The Long Awaited Letter  solo
A Quiet Morning in Merthyr Mawr

It was 7:32 in the morning on the 5th of July, and in a room on the second floor of a quaint home in the tiny town of Merthyr Mawr, sits Eleanor, who is working away at her latest fantasy story. She hadn't gotten the slightest bit of sleep the past two days, for, as she herself said to her mother the day prior, "This will be the one to get me published! I cannot sleep until it is done..." not quite realizing that most unknown authors don't get published without extreme amounts of work and luck, not even including the fact that she's only 11 years old. However, her mother didn't have the heart to tell her any of this.

Eleanor had been sat at her desk with only her laptop illuminating her face, writing away for 9 hours straight, with only the shortest of breaks to eat and drink. It hadn't even occurred to her how long she'd been writing until the sun "suddenly" hit her right in the face through the window over her desk, but that didn't really bother her, as she could just close the blinds and keep going as per usual. It was as she was closing said blinds that she saw it, an owl sitting on a tree right next to her window, looking at her. Eleanors eyes widened as she involuntarily let out a small celebratory noise before she sprinted out of her room and seemingly glided down the stairs, nearly tripping at the door. However, she didn't see anything. No letter on the floor next to the doors mail slot.

Defeated, Eleanor started walking up the stairs again, until she heard something from the closet in the hallway. It almost sounded like a person. She went to investigate, and right as she reached for the handle, her mother jumped out, giving Eleanor a big hug while laughing like a mad witch. "You got your letter! I got your letter! This is amazing!" Her mother honestly seemed happier than Eleanor about this, which really didn't surprise her in the slightest. "Yes, mother, I know. I saw the owl sitting outside my window just now. Why did you hide it from me?" Eleanor asked, slightly annoyed at her ever-delighted mother. "Oh, you don't need to be so formal about this, this is a time to celebrate! I just wanted to give you a surprise, dear. Too bad you already knew..." Eleanor was all too used to her mothers antics at this point, but in a way she also enjoyed it, not that she'd ever show it.

After a couple more seconds her mother finally let go and handed the letter to Eleanor, who proceeded to quickly shred the envelope open to finally gaze upon one thing she's been dreaming of for years; her invitation to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After having quickly read over the whole thing once, twice, three times, she gave her mother a hug, but that time on her own accord. The mother and daughter then headed into the kitchen to have a wonderful breakfast and prepare a tiny celebration, perhaps including Eleanors favourite dessert, apple cake with cinnamon and ice cream.
