Bailey was not feeling her best. Her grandmother passed just about a month ago, and she was still heartbroken from that. Her friends were all at summer camp, and she with her family but was just unhappy. Depressed maybe, but bailey felt bad saying that because she felt guilty - guilty because she had been given SO much in this life, and why should she be sad?? But also she felt that her emotions were valid but she was a mess. Such a mess that she felt like she needed a change. Something drastic.... something to make her feel NEW. A new person, like she was entering a new season of her life.
After checking with her mother (always the duful daughter) she went upstairs to her childhood bedroom, and sat on the chair and just looked at herself in the mirror. Her face was pale, gaunt even, with dark circles rimming her bloodshot blue eyes. Her hair fell unkept around her shoulders, and she took a brush and began to ( or attempting to) run a brush through the tangled locks. When that was unsuccessful, bailey decided it was time. Time to let go of the funk she had been in, time to let go of the blue tipped hair she had had since she was a child. She was more grown now than she had been then, and felt like it was time for a change. After a few minutes of deliberating, she took the scissors that had been sitting on her vanity and brought them to her hair. A tear slid down her face, silent and swift, as she made the first cut.

A few short minutes later, a pile of blond and blue hair laid in a pile around her chair, and bailey felt pounds lighter (even though that wasn't physically possible). Something felt different inside, along with the physical change she saw outside.

howdy again my dear friends and readers <3 welcome to bailey coping through her writing 2.0 (or 3.0? i dunno writing is one of my many sources of therapy currently lol this one is just... very real to me rn.)
anyways, many emotions in this post are mirrored in my own life. I struggle with allowing myself to feel sad etc or to acknowledge those feelings because i have been so lucky with my life. I sometimes feel (and its not great i know but i want ppl to know they aren't the only ones who think/feel like this) that i shouldn't get to feel sad or angry or upset because i have so much to be thankful for or to be happy about. This is not true - every emotion you feel is valid and deserves recognition, and pls remember that <3 love you all dearly, and take care of yourselves <3

we are all born beautiful. it is a tragedy we are convinced that we are not”
