Beaumaris, Wales
Annwyn Estate

Taliesin anticipated that this was going to be the hardest part of her journey; simply leaving. As Nanny Morgan fussed and ushered her about her room, trying to get the girl ready to leave for Hogwarts, all she could think was how much she already was missing home. Though one shouldn't be mistaken, she was quite excited for the adventure of finally going away for school to meet new people and learn new things... mostly, she was sad to leave Nanny behind.

As the girl sat in front of her vanity, she watched the older woman carefully comb and arrange her mass of red curls into a tightly controlled bun. Granted, Nanny had been working with her for weeks now how to manage her hair herself; Taliesin had never had to do it before on her own. She wondered what would the woman do now that her change would be gone until Christmas. Of course, she knew Nanny did other things around the estate aside from fussing and fretting over the Young Mistress, but still. And what about Madam Daaé? When she had tried to ask the woman, Madam had simply insisted that it wasn't any of her business, but to be sure that her deportment lessons would continue over holidays.

Taliesin still wasn't quite sure if she thought that was a promise or a threat.

When the last of her things were packed into her trunk, and Nanny fussed once or twice more over her hair and clothes until she was perfectly satisfied, the woman held the child out at arms length, looking her over as though memorizing every detail of the girl, "Fe wnaethoch chi dyfu i fyny mor gyflym..." "You grew up so fast" she sighed, brushing a stray curl from the child's eyes, "My sweet little Dilly Dally." a childhood nickname that only her Nanny had ever called her, on account of how easily distracted the child would always become along the way to whatever task was required of her.

Unable to help herself, and in the safety of her room where no prying eyes would scrutinize the tender moment, Taliesin threw her arms around Nanny's waist, hugging her tightly. It eased the nerves bundling in her chest as the woman returned her squeeze, "I expect you to write me, and tell me about all your new friends and your classes. And I expect your best behavior." she reminded.

Taliesin could only manage a nod, unable to speak past the lump growing in her throat as she tried not to cry, "I love you, Nanny." she whimpered.

Nanny Morgan gave the child another tight squeeze, "I love you, Dally." she returned, holding the child there a moment longer before breaking the embrace, "Now then, lets get you onto your adventure." she smiled before calling on one of the house elves to retrieve the child's trunk.

The woman escorted her charge down to her father's study where her parents and Madam Daaé were waiting. It had been decided that Nanny wasn't needed to come all the way to the train station; even if Taliesin wished she would come along.

Under the watchful eye of her Governess over the shoulders of her parents, Taliesin stood as tall as possible, hands folded politely in front of her, "Have you everything packed?" her mother asked, her tone devoid of emotion despite the fact that she was shipping her daughter away from home.

Matching the tone, Taliesin nodded, "Yes, Mother. By your lead, I'm ready."

Her father nodded and cleared his throat (he never had been a man of many words with his daughter) before gesturing towards the fireplace to leave by Floo. After her parents and Madam Daaé, with the Young Mistress' trunk, stepped into the fireplace, Taliesin turned to Nanny Morgan, offering a polite curtsy and an emotionless expression, "Thank you, for your assistance this morning, Nanny Morgan." their interactions in company were night and day compared to private.

"T'was my pleasure, Miss Taliesin. Have a safe journey." she responded back.

With reluctance she struggled to restrain, Taliesin joined the party, taking one last glance at her beloved Nanny before her home disappeared in a puff of green flames.

"The girl who carried her last name like a burden..."
