I'm Half Blind...
IC Date: Crack of Dawn | June 20th 2025
He just needed to cut a few things, to hem the khaki pants belonging to his sons, specifically for Clark, as it was pretty long on his goblin-of-a-son. He dug around his drawers in the Hospital Wing yawning loudly. The crack of dawn, he just had to wake up then. He had to routinely check on anyone who was lying in the Hospital Wing, of course, but that still left him a lot of time to do other things. At the bottom left drawer, he found his wand. He stretched out Clark's pants and measured until he reached the length of 53 inches, and stopped. There were about six inches he had to fix, but first, he felt he needed to sever the pants right where he measured.
"Diffindo," Octavius said, in the midst of making the wand movement, and all of a sudden, he lost concentration as the door to the Hospital Wing slammed open against the wall, sending the topmost potion vials falling onto the ground. In the midst of the noise, looking to see who was being so loud, he felt a sharp slash and deep slash across his right eye. "GOD DAMN IT!" He yelled, dropping his wand and using his free hands to cover his right eye, blood pooling and flowing rapidly as it fell through the cracks of his hand and the opening to gaps from the palm to the face.
He stood up, finding the noise-maker with his non-cut eye, and growled. "Mister Pringles! We're starting the day off with a detention. Now I want you to scrub every last one of these bedpans, I want it to be so clean, that all of the smell of the sanitized cleaner is gone, there shall be nothing remaining. Now scrub!" He moved towards the shelves, not even realizing that the vials from his potions fell onto the floor. He made one step, and another, and turned abruptly only to slip and slam into some glass shards on the ground. Octavius coughed.
He felt he was at the age where he could no longer get up by himself at this point. The nurse threw his left hand away from his face, exposing the gash. It continued to bleed. If one would look at Octavius in the eye that was just cut...
They'd see blood. They'd see that he could no longer see out of that eye. The right eye was blind. He muttered to himself. "Damn kids." He sighed, his left hand slamming into another glass shard as he tried to push himself up.
The pain he felt this morning made him want to cry, so badly. He was the nurse, but he didn't know how to fix this. He looked at Pringles. "Mister Pringle, please go. I can't look at you anymore." He said, looking around for some form of bandage to wrap around his head.
He wasn't going to fix this. No, there was no way his eye could be fixed like this. Not unless he got that weird eye thing that St. Mungos often advertised. It was weird looking through one eye, like things were slightly blurry, text was slightly harder to read, but he was a man, he was going to deal with it. He pulled out the glass shards from his skin and sighed again, grabbing a broom to manually clean up the glass shard, he would dry up and clean up the potion residue later.
