Victoria sat quietly in the large garden of the grand Blythe Manor. A book rested on her lap, but she didn’t seem particularly focused on it. Her cold blue eyes were fixed on the ground, lost in deep thought.
The summer heat and humid air were beginning to wear her down. She calmly adjusted her white crop top and navy-blue shorts. With a deep sigh, she furrowed her brows slightly. It was far too hot, and the garden offered no shaded spot to sit and cool down. And truthfully, she was terribly bored.
She considered going to the nearby park—a quiet, somewhat forgotten place that hardly anyone visited. Her family wasn’t home anyway; they had gone out to dinner with some family friends. Who could possibly stop her?
Victoria stood up and began walking toward the park, leaving her book behind in the garden. As she walked along the path, she noticed a few Muggles passing by and watched their movements with quiet curiosity.
Then she paused.
A familiar pair of blue bambi eyes caught her attention. There was a girl—with soft, warm-toned skin, a round face, and silky hair. She was absolutely stunning. An elderly man stood beside her, and Victoria assumed he was the girl’s grandfather.
Victoria vaguely remembered seeing the girl a few times in the Great Hall. Was she… a Hufflepuff? She often observed people, but rarely thought deeply about them. Still, there was something sweet and gentle about this girl’s presence that lingered in Victoria’s mind. Maybe she could talk to this girl and become friends with her?
Victoria sighed softly, social interaction had never really been her strong suit. Despite meeting plenty of people, learning to open up more and shaping her character in many ways during her first year at Hogwarts, she still couldn’t help but feel uneasy around people she wasn’t close to. So she hesitated to talk with this girl. They never talked before after all.
As if sensing she was being watched, the girl looked up at her. Without thinking, Victoria raised her hand and gave a small wave. Realizing what she was doing, she quickly lowered it again. Had she made the girl uncomfortable? Straightening herself, Victoria let her curious expression fade back into her usual cold, distant gaze. The brunette girl looked away, but she could still feel the blonde girl's gaze lingering on her.

The afternoon sun fell like a blazing lamp upon the park, imbuing the air with a thick stillness and an almost tactile warmth. Stelle walked beside her grandfather along the paths lined with ancient trees, whose trunks seemed like secret guardians as old as magic itself. He advanced with the solemnity of someone who knows they are part of an ancient lineage; she, on the other hand, followed him with a lighter step, her eyes attentive to the smallest details that seemed to escape the adult gaze: the dance of an insect suspended in the light, the subtle rustle of leaves as they swayed in the breeze, the golden texture that the sunset imprinted on every surface. She had dedicated the last few afternoons to this, trying to ignore her grandparents' sharp stares. Almost by royal decree, her grandmother decreed that she should start spending vacations with them for the sake of the "family legacy," and that this way it would be easier for her to learn all the little things expected of a Divogenia. The walks with her grandfather always had a ceremonial air. He spoke in a grave tone, recounting anecdotes about distinguished families, names that weighed like seals, and wedding rings that seemed woven with threads of pride. Stelle listened to him with the expected politeness, but lighter thoughts floated in the back of her mind.
It was in the midst of this mixture of solemnity and reverie that she saw her. Amidst the greenery and warmth, a female figure appeared, dressed in white and navy blue. She walked along the path with a distant air. Her skin, bathed in the light, had a luminous purity; her eyes, on the other hand, were cold and deep, like the ice of a winter lake. Stelle recognized her clearly: Victoria Blythe. She had exchanged a few fleeting glances with her in the Great Hall at Hogwarts, always from a distance. The Blythe name resonated among pure-blood families, including her own grandparents' circle, like a respectable echo, albeit one laden with a protocolary coldness. They had never exchanged words, but there was something about Victoria that intrigued her: a certain restrained elegance, a solitude clothed in pride. As they looked at each other, Victoria raised her hand in a spontaneous, almost involuntary gesture. Her expression changed immediately, holding back again as if afraid of having revealed too much. Stelle, at first timidly, and then, with a determination she didn't usually show in front of strangers, closed the distance between them, apologizing to her grandfather so she could get closer. Her grandfather, surprised by the initiative, stopped at the side of the road, observing with the stern patience of someone who doesn't intervene, but evaluates. Stelle, on the other hand, took a step closer, with the serenity of someone unafraid of the stillness of others.
—Good afternoon—. she said in a soft, clear voice that seemed to envelop the warmth in a kinder tone. —Victoria, is that right?—. she continued, with a cordial tone that contrasted with the heavy atmosphere. I— think I saw you in the Great Hall… you're a Slytherin, if I remember correctly.—.
There was a luminous naturalness in his words, typical of his house. The initial shyness faded in favor of genuine curiosity. The sun, high overhead, seemed to have stopped to contemplate that first exchange. Between the rustling of the leaves and the stillness of summer, two different worlds touched delicately.
