Hello! I joined this site a few years ago, and I participated in a handful of roleplays. These were during the summer break so i never actually attended Hogwarts. I did attend the Summer Camp, though. Considering I'm returning to the site during the summer once again and I'm still a 1st year, so I haven't really started school, would it be okay for me to participate in the summer camp again as an upcoming 1st year?

I'm a bit confused on how to make this work, as my character already attended it once before as an upcoming 1st year.

If you post in Reindex with a valid reason to being gone from 2022 (this- 2022-2023 would've been your first year but you didn't do that according to this) and why she hasn't had an education, if you wanted to be considered for official index and yearing up (plus being able to use the advancement system that just opened to get you ahead to the proper year or close to the proper year.). As of right now you are considered a first year, but that's because everyone starts off as one by default.

Yes, you can participate in the upcoming Summer Camp despite not being the age of a typical first year. Typically anything moderated requires that you are part of the Official Index and have a locked trunk/the poster is the Game Master not you.

Thank you for telling me! So what I'm gathering is that if I wanted to start as a regular 1st year I would need to restart as a new character and deactivate this one? Otherwise I would either have to advance or my character would be an older first year? Just trying to make sure I have this right.

I mean, if you want to be 11, then yes. But, you can't change your dob, especially not if you've already roleplayed her, to be 11, so if you want to be 11, yes, deactivation could work.

If you want to be a higher year, (if you get indexed now, you can move up to second year and apply for advancement and be in third year, which would put her a year behind her actual year if I did the math right.

@Lillian Ward — the short answer is that, since you’ve got RP threads from 2022 that you’ve posted in, you would have to deactivate & make a new character if you wanted to have an upcoming first year.
