As Ada stepped into the Magical Menagerie she was as exited as any to get a magical pet but as she saw the interior for the first time She was absolutely awestruck. The room was dimly light and smelled of cat dung, but it was the most fascinating place she had ever seen. Cages, terrariums, and tanks of varying shapes and sizes were stacked high and filled with the most interesting creatures Ada had ever set eyes on. She was looking around the store when an aged voice greeted her. "Can I help you with anything?" a frail woman with wispy white hair and wearing emerald green robes and a kind smile asked from behind a very cluttered counter. "Oh, um.. Yeah I'm looking for an owl" Ada said vaguely still looking around the room in wonder. "We have many cats here, can you be any more specific?" the woman asked. "Sure" Ada thought for a moment and then said, "I want a Barred Owl" she said in a mater-of-fact tone. "Okay then" said the woman, smiling even more broadly as she shuffled to a corner of the room. She passed a large red bird singing shrill melody that was so sweet it made Ada feel like all her worries had melted away as she hastened to catch up to the old woman. "We have a good selection to pick from" She said once Ada had caught up. "And here you are!" The woman said brightly and she stopped abruptly in front of three spacious cages. Ada peered at the one at the far right. Its occupant was very small and fluffy with a brown pelt and black stripes. The brown kitten looked back at Ada with bright amber eyes. The woman spoke from somewhere behind Ada. "That's Twig, that brown owl that your looking at. He is such a lover" She said fondly. Ada smiled and then shifted her gaze to the next owl whom was snowy white with eyes of pure gold. "That ones Hedwig" she said pointing at the white one who blinked her gold eyes and hooted softly. Then Ada turned to the third and final owl. This one was white with beautiful grey specks. He looked up at her with piercing green eyes. "That third one's name is Misty. He's a mischief maker that one." The old woman said looking down at the kitten and smiling. Ada paused for a moment looking at all the owls in turn."I think I know who I want." She said at last. "The brown one, Twig." Ada said. "Nice choice, very nice choice indeed." Said the woman beaming. Ada looked down at her new owl and smiled. He hooted softly. She had made the right choice. She just knew it.
