It was a family outing. Benjamin, Luke, and Rebecca came with Devon for their annual shopping for Ilvermorny. The upcoming year was meant to be very exciting! Then again, every year is exciting in its own way. They were attending a magical school for witches and wizards, after all!
Benjamin and Luke were running ahead, racing each other to the Quidditch store. They were arguing about brooms. Rebecca and Devon walked together at a more leisurely pace, talking about their plans for later that evening … specifically, Devon was asking for a hair tutorial from Rebecca … perhaps with a few braids! Their destination was the bookstore. Devon hoped to buy a book on Divination for herself … in addition to whatever new books she needed.
Before they could get far, Devon noticed they were passing a pet store and she stopped and giggled. “Hey, Becca … you can go on without me. I think I’ll get a pet first.”
Rebecca smiled and nodded. “Good luck, Dev. I cannot wait to see what cutie you decide to get.”
“Thanks!” Devon beamed. With a quick hug, the sisters parted ways. Rebecca went to the bookstore, and Devon skipped into the pet store.
Upon entering the magical pet store, Devon’s eyes grew wide at the different creatures all around her. Lizards, ferrets, pygmy puffs! So many awesome options! She gravitated toward the frogs, gently petting a forest green frog that jumped with happiness at her touch. “Aw, you are so cute!” She giggled.
Spinning on the heels of her sandals, Devon pranced toward the cats. Again, so many wonderful options. With each step toward them, she could hear their soft meows. She giggled, gently petting some of the cats. They were clearly very friendly! That was always a plus. She was pretty friendly, too, after all! Decisions, decisions…
Out of the corner of her eyes, Devon spotted the crup section and skipped over to them. She giggled at how happy they looked. So awesome and so very, very cute! Reaching out her hand, she giggled as a few of the crups licked it.
Her green eyes sparkled when she noticed one cute small crup trying to reach her, but couldn’t fit through the group. Devon giggled. “Aw, now aren’t you a cutie?” She cooed, moving over, she brought her hand to their smaller crup, who then began to lick her hand. She giggled, gently petting the crup. Reaching in with her other hand, she picked her up.
“Aww, you’re definitely a cutie!” Devon exclaimed.
The crup barked, panting happily, playing with Devon’s hand.
With another smile, Devon booped the crup’s nose happily. “Ok, you’re very cute. I think you’ll be my pet. I think I’ll name you … Ginger.” The crup panted happily. “Yay! Ginger, it is!”
Devon cuddled the crup to her chest, skipping to the front desk to purchase Ginger as her pet.Reducio
