Bronze is Better pet solo

Agata hadn't really thought about pets. It wasn't something that she had seen growing up. None of her siblings had had them. Ariadna had wanted a pet, but Mama had said a firm no to her daughter getting a slimy snake or a spider. Rabbits wouldn't have been a good thing either. The heat would have killed the delicate beings in an instant. It wasn't until her cousin, Dusana and her pet snake Asclepius, had visited that Agata's thoughts about pets would change. Perhaps it was that Dusana was a role model for the younger witch, or that Agata wanted to rebel against her family's wishes. Either way, the girl would be getting some sort of animal today.

The pet store she went to was in her hometown of Cusco, Peru. She was back for the Summer holidays after her fourth year at Castelobruxo. Today was going to be the day, she realised because soon she was to leave for London. Every year, Hogwarts hosted all of the international schools for a Summer Camp, and this year for something different, Agata was to meet Dusana in London and spend time with her and Dusana's other cousin, Beatrice. It was the first time Agata would meet the other girl, and really, the Peruvian girl did not want a stressed animal travelling with her. She knew it would take some time to find the one she wanted, and then calm the animal enough to interact. Hopefully by the time they left next week, they would have some sort of bond.

Browsing the store, Agata wasn't quite sure what she wanted. There seemed to be many different animals. Rabbits of different colours and shapes, lizards, snakes, even dogs. But what drew her attention was the cats. Fluffy cats. Skinny cats. Mongrel cats. Cats of all shapes and sizes and colurs. One, tucked away in the corner of one of the open enclosures on the ground housed a bronze cat. Beautiful and sleek, she was dotted with spots across her fur that Agata instantly fell in love with. This was the one, no questions asked. She turned to the shop owner, who had been hovering near the register counter as Agata browsed. The old woman smiled kindly. "That one, I assume? She's a fancy thing. Egyptian Mau. Quiet but loyal. And her colouring will help her blend right in. Do you want to have a hold?" Agata nodded in response. She was already perfect in Agata's eyes, but as the girl received the quiet young cat, she knew it was meant to be hers.
