Ava seldom found herself to enjoy a subject, and even less often found herself proficient in it. Transfiguration seemed to be the exception to this rule, a class in which she exceeded expectations in and was actually passing.
Sure, she absolutely hated the authority, prying eyes and annoyingness that were all attributed to being a professor, but on occasion she was able to set aside those feelings and at least reach out. Reach out for extra learning, not for help. She would never reach out for help until the day she died.
Ava walked toward the transfiguration classroom with, for once, pure intentions. She intended to ask for a further push in the correct direction, a few new spells to learn above her year since the money she would have used to buy the next year’s book was actually being saved to purchase an expensive broom.
As students poured out of the room, possibly sixth years, she entered. Her eyes took inventory, noting each person and object in the room in her usual scan. Usually she would have immediately started formulating a plan of how chaos could ensue in the future, but today was different.
Ava noticed the professor near the back of the classroom, but froze when she noticed who was beside him. She quietly drew her wand, hugging the doorway as she pointed it at Damion. "Incendio."
