Money Mines
The sound of two pairs of feet filled the large room, one fast and with a clicking of shoes, accompanied by a casual whistle here and there, and one also fast but rather erratic.
Maple walked briskly to the counter, his little brother, Elm, following after as fast he could. Elm panted out, holding his side with a deep wince, "Hey can you wait up? I'm sore!"
With a glance behind him, Maple smirked, "Okay, come on. I'll hitch you a ride." The older boy grinned with mischievous and scooped Elm onto his back. Elm whooped a cheer, "Yes! The stallion carries his knight!" With a loud laugh, Maple murmurs, "Well, I don't have the stamina of a horse so you're gonna have to get down before the ol' gremlin sees us breaking code." With a swift jump, Elm plopped down off his older brother's back, just as the goblin at the front desk turned to face them, his crooked nose upturned in their direction.
Elm watched as Maple's face turned from playful to serious and respectful. Handing a slip of paper to the goblin, Maple spoke up, "I would like a deposit of 7 galleons, please."
The goblin pulled out a banking book and then reached down to a drawer with files. Taking a certain file out, he found inside a key to which he handed to Maple. "Room 404."
After taking the money out of the family vault, Maple put the 7 galleons inside a small black purse and handed it to Elm. "Remember this money is to be spent first on your school supplies. The rest you can use for whatever." Elm nodded, a small smile spreading across his features. This was only a beginning step of his Hogwarts adventure and he couldn't wait to see what would follow.
A pureblood with a fascination for muggle objects, pygmy puffs, and plants.
