Her private school back in the muggle world had quiet time during lunch. It wasn't quite so rowdy as the Hogwarts great hall is, though then again, it isn't quite so magical, either. As if to prove her point, a charmed tea pot floats above her head and pours tea into a cup for a student across from her. She resists the urge to sniff in contempt. There's a delicacy-- an art-- in holding a tea cup and pouring tea for ones self. To allow magic to do it is... well, it's slandering that great art.
There's all sorts of things that magic could be used for, Sera is realizing. But it's a bit much to get used to. Her father-- a wizard born-- never properly taught her how to use charms or spells or...
Sera sighs. She just feels really behind on her peers, sometimes. The sounds around her grow louder as an insecurity sets in; one that she's confident she can overcome, but right now, it feels close to impossible. A feeling tugs at her chest-- anxiety, she knows. She shuts her history book, hastily shoves it inside of her school bag, and pushes away from the table. Her steps are hurried as she rushes to the doors, needing to get out, get out, she just can't be here anymore--
And then she crashes straight into someone. She shakes her head, a little dizzy, registering bits of the girls appearance-- pale, with bright red hair and freckles. Sera's breath hitches, an apology instantly spilling from her lips.
"Oh, God! I'm so, so sorry. I wasn't even looking where I was going. Are you okay?"

Lily's morning had been...not well. She had woken up early to attend class, her first year back from America, and she was not a morning person at all. To wake up at 7 a.m. was torture. But at least Hogwarts served coffee. That woke her up a bit. She hadn't been able to pay attention to her first period teacher but as the day wore on her brain actually woke up. Lily hadn't planned on going to lunch...she had homework she wanted to do so she wasn't up at 1 a.m. trying to complete it before the next day was over but nearing the end of a period before lunch her stomach was rumbling and making up a storm. When the period was over, she headed to her dorm to drop her bags and books off, seeing as how she had signed up for almost all the third year classes. On her way back to the Great Hall, she thought about what she wanted to eat. A nice yummy plate of chicken alfredo would be nice. Or plain and simple grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup and milk on the side. Mhm now she was really getting hungry. She was about to enter the great hall when some girl with brown hair ran into her almost full on and nearly knocked Lily off balance. Good thing she didn't though. As Lily looked the girl up and down she noticed she was relatively short and looked about 12 so she'd say she was a second year. She couldn't be harsh with her, after all the saying pick on people your own age was their for a reason. "It's all right, just pay attention next time. Not all people you run into would be very....kind about it." Lily warned with a soft smile.
