Messy Night
Simon walked around the campgrounds, trying to find a nice spot. Her bag dug into her back. Why am I so bad at packing? She finally found a nice, clear grassy spot for her and her friend to stay at. She set her bag down with a THUD and open the tent she had been carrying. She dug through the fabric and the poles trying find the instructions, and began to think maybe she had lost them. So, she dumped out the entire bag, only to find that the instructions were printed on the inner lining of the bag. Simon felt embarrassed. She remembered the last time she went camping with this tent. She struggled to put it together, tripping over her own feet and the tent. It had gotten really hot by the time she was finished, so she was not only sweaty, she was also tired, and covered in grass.
She went to go get wood for her and her friends fire, only to find there were two pieces left. She grabbed both, and picked up smaller sticks on the way back. The sticks dug into her arms, poking her skin. Ouch. I can't wait to get back to the tent. Once she got there, she decided to crawl into the tent (which was meant to house three people) to set up her stuff. She put in her pillow, her sleeping bag, and a stuffed rabbit she called NiNi. She saw something moving under the tent, and thought it was just a chipmunk. She exited the tent to wait for her friend, and the thing came out. It was a snake, and it was pretty large. Simon jumped, grabbing the tent bag to shoo it off. She pulled her camping stool from her bag, and sat down, processing all the chaos that had happened since she arrived.
