The Mahoutokoro library had become something of a sanctuary for Hikari, tucked away from the noise, the bustle and endless chatter of the rest of the school. And it smelled like home; of old books, and parchment, which reminded Hikari of his father's library, where he had often spent countless nights lost in quiet study, sometimes falling asleep over large, old books he could barely lift up. Those types of books were always Hikari's favorite- the ones he could barely wrap his arms around, but could still hug to his body. Sometimes, the memories hit Hikari like a punch in the gut, a sharp wave of homesickness Hikari couldn't quiet tame.

Today though, he had come with a purpose, and it wasn't to feel closer to home. Today Hikari was going to find every scrap of knowledge that existed on metamorphmagi, in hopes that it would help him develop a greater control over his not-so-newfound abilities. He was more than a little tired of his hair betraying every little emotion he had worked so hard to learn to keep under wraps.

And so, there he was, head bent over a thick brown-backed book, with about five more books resting beside him in a clean stack.

As metamorphmagi age, they become more skilled in utilizing their ability, allowing them to master full copies or whole personas and major differences in height or size. They also develop a knack of seeing the subtleties of transformation magic and as such have it easier to spot an attempt of disguise. Generally metamorphs are known for their affinity to Transfiguration and are rumored to have it easier in such classes or mastery of such skills and spells. A lot of metamorphs find meditation or breathing exercises to be valuable helpers in maintaining control over their talent.

Well, that wasn't very encouraging. If all he needed was time, there was very little he could do besides patiently wait, and waiting was often the hardest challenge. He inhaled deeply, closing the book and setting it aside, before picking up the one on the top of the stack. Well, even if I can't find something here to help me, perhaps I could ask someone.
