Is there any way to get extra money other than a shop and collecting my scholarship? I really want an Arctic Owl.

You get money from you're daily allowance , sometimes for participating in errands and making shops !! There are other ways but I cant remember

You need to be registered for the index for anything that has moderation.

You can also earn money if you get a site job (including becoming a mentor and writing for the Hogwarts newspaper). But, many of these have prerequisites.

There are also sometimes house-driven incentives to do HW, certain months as a reward for being top house or among the top earners also. Recently due to the numerous changes I have also been setting bounties on certain projects to get extra eyes on things in exchange for dinero.

Is there anything like that happening soon?

The bounties have been happening all week/longer. There may be others but right now, it's been closed. You have to just keep an eye on the announcements. I recommend subscribing to it (there's a bell on the thread).
