*༺Ariadna de la Rosa༻*

Background Story:
Ariadna is a Muggle-born witch who grew up in Seville, Spain, before moving with her family to London at the age of eight due to her father's illness. While her mother works long hours and often seems distant, Ariadna has been mostly raised by her older sister, Lucía, who works as a secretary in a Muggle furniture company. Their bond is so strong that Ariadna often feels more maternal affection from Lucía than from her own mother.
Although she's naturally introverted, Ariadna has always had a vivid inner world. At school, many classmates thought she was strange—an odd, dreamy girl who whispered to herself and stared into empty corners. But a few true friends discovered something else: a wicked sense of humor, sharp wit, endless imagination, and a love for storytelling that made her unforgettable.
She adores inventing stories, writing them down, and acting them out with her friends. That love for imagination has led her to become a passionate fan of video games, a hobby her mother disapproves of as “boyish and improper,” but which her father has always supported wholeheartedly. When his health allows, they play together, or share the stories they’ve each written—one of their most cherished rituals.
Her first display of magic occurred in the hospital. Ariadna had gone months without seeing her father due to complications with his illness. She was anxious, restless, and overwhelmed with worry. When she was finally allowed into his room and saw him again, the joy burst out of her like light from a star. Well, nothing actually exploded, but something miraculous did happen: every single flower and plant in his hospital room, and even in the surrounding rooms, came back to life and bloomed in full, radiant splendor. The impact was undeniable. The fragile minds of the Muggles searched for an explanation as to why all those plants had come back to life. Most settled on blaming the incompetence of the nurse who had declared them dead too soon. But her parents knew the truth: it had been Ariadna. They felt it, and they knew it with one of those deep certainties that shake the heart. After all, is there any greater miracle than the love between a father and his daughter?
At first, that’s all it was: a miracle from God. She was nine years old at the time. But soon after, perhaps because they had begun to pay closer attention, they started to notice other strange things happening around the house—glasses shattering without reason, objects moving from one place to another, a television turning on by itself... Small things, unimportant on their own, but enough to stir growing suspicion.
Then, when she turned eleven, her acceptance letter to Hogwarts arrived—along with a Ministry official sent to explain everything to Muggle families of magical children and to prove it was real and not some cruel joke. Her mother did not take the news well. She was skeptical, hesitant, and did not want to send Ariadna away for so long. Her father, though also uncertain, was far more intrigued by the discovery that his youngest daughter was, in fact, special.
It was, once again, her sister Lucía who convinced them. She argued that this was something good for Ariadna—that they couldn’t take her future away or force her to live a life that wasn’t hers just because they couldn’t control it. Her father agreed, and her mother, reluctantly, had no choice but to follow.
The day she boarded the Hogwarts Express was the most exciting day of her life. She was accompanied by her parents, her sister, and even her sister’s boyfriend, all of whom wished her the best on her new adventure and made her promise to write to them constantly and tell them everything. It was the first time Ariadna had ever travelled anywhere on her own, but she was eager to discover the school and explore it.
When her eyes first caught sight of the castle, she felt—strangely and inexplicably—that she had "come home." The thought confused her, and even felt a little twisted, given that her being at Hogwarts was only possible because of her father's illness, which had forced the family to move to London. Had they stayed in Spain, she would have received a letter from Beauxbatons instead, and even then it was uncertain whether she would have been accepted there... or not. In any case, Ariadna made an effort to set aside her worries and enjoy that first night in the castle.
But her happiness didn’t last long. During the Sorting Ceremony, Ariadna felt that something was going terribly wrong. The hat placed on her head took five minutes and thirteen seconds to decide which house to send her to. Ravenclaw seemed like an excellent option, thanks to Ariadna’s overflowing creativity, imagination, and sharp mind. It also sensed a tendency toward fairness and loyalty that aligned well with Hufflepuff—though Ravenclaw still felt like the stronger match. When Ariadna nervously asked what the delay was, the Sorting Hat replied that there was something sleeping inside her. Something that hadn’t yet surfaced, perhaps due to her age—and something that might even be "in her blood." Could it be that one of her distant magical ancestors had also studied at Hogwarts? How long ago would that have been? All she knew was that her family had been Spanish for as far back as she could remember. Centuries ago, perhaps?
But the hat continued to hesitate. Because it was her blood that conflicted with the values of Salazar Slytherin, who had held contempt for Muggles and their offspring. And yet... it also sensed something dormant inside her: ambition, cunning, strategy, pride, and a deep longing to be recognized, to be powerful, to prove herself.
After what felt like an eternity, the Sorting Hat finally shouted: SLYTHERIN. Ariadna walked to her table in a state of confusion and shock, overwhelmed by the few unsettling things she had heard about that house. Panic took hold of her so strongly that she stumbled on her way over (not the best way to make a first impression), and she barely spoke to anyone for the rest of the night. What had once been a thrilling and fun adventure had suddenly filled her with nervous fear...
What would happen when her classmates found out the truth about her impure blood?
