Astrid skipped her way into the large bookstore that she'd dreamt about every night the in the last ten days or so; Flourish and Blotts. As her eyes scanned the seemingly never-ending books and shelves, her parents followed close behind, their amused smiles barely containing her enthusiasm.
She'd already listened to all stories, tales and adventures her parents had to offer regarding the magical school she was going to; and it was certainly not enough. She needed to know more, she needed to know everything. Most of that desire to know originated from her excitement and curiosity; although there was no denying that some part of it certainly came from her nervousness and anxiety. She was almost as nervous as she was excited - almost.
She skipped around the store, looking at all the book titles, even opening and reading parts or chapters of some, completely ignoring the list sent by the school; though she couldn't continue that much longer. Of course she couldn't. Her father felt the need to intervene, he always did.
After being told that they were in a hurry, Astrid finally started to pay attention to her list; and picked up the books accordingly. "Hogwarts, a history..." ; she inspected the books in the list, searching for them around the bookstore; her excitement returning even after her father's interruption.
Soon enough, she had handpicked the best-looking copies of each books, explored many shelves, and pleased her love for books. With her books secured, she took one last lingering glance around the shop. She could spend hours here, days even. But there was still so much left to explore.
She still needed to buy her robes, and then, she would finally be ready. Ready for Hogwarts, ready for magic; and ready for New Beginnings.
