WHAT THE HELL this is not how any normal person would imagine their day going , but lucky for Walker he wasn't normal , he was a mutan since birth , powers that he was unable to control from his young age but it could've been worse , he grew up without parents , never sent to any mutan orphanage , which probably would've made him crazy but he grew up with doctor strange , crazy right? he was the one who helped him control his powers. back to the first part anyways , like i said not any normal person thought their day would be going like this , i mean who sits in the avengers tower arguing with tony stark? Who would even do that besides Steve Rogers but here walker was , arguing with the great tony stark over how hes too dependent on his tech rather than people , like come on? Your choosing tech over blood. 

" Stark , you can not rely on your tech all the time ? Whats happens when it breaks ? Are you gonna cry like a baby over it ? " Walker said harshly , crossing his arms over his chest , and staring down at tony , he was obviously a tad taller than the billionaire , crying out loud he was 6'4 and tony was what ? 6'1 i mean its only like 3 to 4 inches apart but still , If you didn't know Walker tate was also a anti-hero going by the name Nightguard hes also reluctantly a x-men , despite growing up around the avengers he had a certain dislike to all of them except  Stephen Strange and Natasha Romanoff . He had respect for them , Stephan because he basically raised him and Natasha cause of her battle skills , 

Tony’s expression went from mildly annoyed to utterly unimpressed in a heartbeat. His arms folded tightly, eyebrow cocked in that classic Stark fashion—the one that screamed I’ve heard worse from a homicidal robot I built in a cave. He stepped forward, chin tilted up just enough to meet Walker’s glare head-on, never one to be intimidated even by someone taller, bulkier, and significantly broodier. “What the hell?” Tony echoed dryly, the words laced with sarcasm. “You waltz into my tower—which I own, by the way—and give me a lecture on dependency? Buddy, I’ve been depending on myself and my tech since I was fifteen. And last time I checked, tech hasn’t let me down nearly as much as people have.” 

Walker didn’t flinch, didn’t even blink. Typical. Tony hated how calm he always looked, like every explosion was just background noise to a bigger storm raging inside. Tony gestured around the room—floor-to-ceiling glass, sleek panels humming with electricity, a dozen AI-controlled interfaces blinking softly. “This—all of this—keeps people alive. Keeps you alive. That little suit you’re wearing? Bet you didn’t forge it in a monastery with prayer beads and good vibes.” Walker’s jaw tensed. “That suit isn’t my identity. It’s a tool. Just like your tech. But when the tools become your only connection to the world—when they replace trust, instinct, and people—you stop being a hero, Stark. You become a machine with a heart rate.”

Tony scoffed. “Says the guy who ghosted an entire X-Men mission to go hunt down a Hydra bunker solo. Real people-first move, Nightguard.” A crackle of tension lit the air, something not entirely normal. The lights in the tower dimmed just slightly, almost in reaction to Walker’s rising pulse—his powers teasing the edge of instability. " Don’t talk to me about trust,” Walker muttered, voice low and dangerous. “You don’t know a damn thing about what I’ve had to survive.”

Tony leaned in, eyes narrowed. “You’re right. I don’t. But guess what? Every single one of us is a little messed up. We just choose to be better. You don’t get to use pain as a hall pass to be an ass to everyone.” For a long second, neither of them said anything. Then JARVIS’s calm voice broke the silence:

 “Sir, incoming call from Dr. Strange. He says—and I quote—‘Tell those two oversized toddlers to stop flexing their trauma and answer the damn portal before a demon eats Brooklyn.’”  Walker exhaled sharply, lips twitching into the ghost of a smirk. “Guess Daddy’s calling.” Tony rolled his eyes and turned toward the war room. “Let’s go, Nightguard. Time to put those uncontrolled mutant powers to use.”

Walker followed, muttering under his breath, “One day you’ll thank me for calling you out.”

Tony didn’t look back, but his voice echoed down the hall: “Sure. I’ll send you a thank-you card. In binary.”
