Cirrus looked up, his honey colored eyes squinting against the blinding light of the setting sun. The boy readjusted his laying position to sit up, supporting his weight on his hands as he focused on the water before him, which was glowing golden yellow due to the reflection of the sun disappearing behind the horizon. He had half wondered how he had gotten here, after his class in history he must've wandered trying to take his mind of the horrifying thoughts of wars and ended up here at the boat house and fallen asleep.
It was rather ironic, he had thought to himself, that the fact that this same place where his venture into the wizarding world had officially begun once he had set foot into one of these boats. Cirrus had been so excited that day, his eyes stricken with awe at the newly discovered world around him, yet now here he sat questioning whether or not he should have ever set foot in that boat in the first place... Further wondering with a chuckle if he had even had the choice or not to begin with.
When had his mind start to go, was it truly that mysterious potion that had started all these thoughts of darkness? Or were these shadows always clawing away inside of him to begin with? Just hidden deep away in the depths of his mind underneath his blissful ignorance. The more Cirrus had learn the more it drove him to the edge of these thoughts he was convinced to belong to his own mind, or maybe corruption was the price that came with magic. They always did say that all magic comes with a cost, yet seemingly the whole wizarding world in it's entirety was blind to this fact.
The boy could almost scoff at the fact that the wizards and their ministry found themselves to be so much higher than other beings and so just in everything they did, yet still play the victim. Selfish, hypocritical, and entitled, only further proven in his recent lessons in History. Murders that play innocent. All they do is speak about how they were discriminated against and persecuted for years yet never bat an eye when a muggle dies from something that could have been prevented with extra measure... Why did the muggles have to stay in the dark, be shunned away from the light, misinformed about the truth that so horrifyingly hides beneath the naked eye?
The list of hate goes on and on, probably more than the boy himself knew of being only a first year student of Hogwarts. Gargoyles, made as sentient guardians, revolted in a peaceful protest after seeing their peers destroyed and pounded into dust in front of their very eyes. Forcing them to fight to defend themselves after the wizards then turned against them as well in violence after refusing them better working conditions. The ministry acted unjustly, and instead of doing the justifiably thing and granting the gargoyles their wishes of peace they killed them all, banning anymore sentient objects from existence. Running away like the entitled narrow-minded cowards they truly were...
Then there was the goblins, a species of beings that Wizards backstabbed and stripped them of their rights, treating them as lesser than throughout the long course of magical history. He furrowed his eyebrows just thinking about, how could they be sick in the head? The practically forced goblins to rebel due to their lack of any if not at all having representation as citizens in the magic society, there was a large loss of both. Yet what did the ministry do? They ran away again like spoiled brats and took away Goblin's rights to bare wands. This rebellion went back and forth for years, and even brought in werewolves and took away their rights as well, and it could all been avoided if the ministry wasn't such insufferable beings.
Cirrus sighed to himself letting his thoughts drop for a moment instead of stressing himself out, looking as the sun dipped behind the mountains across from him. What would it take to make everything right...
