Closed A Pet Meeting PV Victoria Lena Jones

Tori happily headed towards the yard. The weather was nice and warm and it was a good time to play with her friend Vick. She couldn't go out much these days, her classes were too busy.

The idea of having a little animal playdate with a friend made this day twice as good. Today, he would be with Kait, who was in the same year as him. This increased his excitement even more.

Today her hair was chocolate brown and tied with a ribbon. She was wearing a pink dress and blue pants. She had her bag on her right shoulder and her pet rat Vick on her other shoulder.

When she came to the courtyard, he looked around. She smiled involuntarily at the sight she saw. She went to Kait.

"Hello Kait great to see you. How are you and hello Demeter. Great to see you again."

She put her mouse down. Vick went straight to the lettuce. It occurred to Victoria that she hadn't fed her mouse yet.

"What are you doing? Is this your diary?"

She hadn't talked to Kait much; they had met when they had the same class, so she didn't know much about the Slytherin girl.

Dear Diary,

What comes to mind,
With the sun beating on your skin,
The wind ruffling your hair,
The sounds of nature reach a crescendo,
All on a quiet spring day?

Little Demeter hopped to some nearby grass patches and began eating the grass.

Kaitlyn looked up from her diary, looking at her Mist Hopper with a giggle. ‘I’m glad to have found her … she’s so cute,’ she smiled … as her bunny hopped around some more. She knew it was important for her pet to get her exercise, which was why she welcomed this cute little animal playdate with her classmate, Tori.

She smiled when Tori arrived at set her pet mouse down on the ground. Demeter sniffed the air, as if she could sense the arrival of the other creature. She hopped toward Vick.

“Hi Tori! Hi Vick! It’s good to see you both again,” Kaitlyn greeted the Ravenclaw and her pet cheerfully. She loved the weather and how nice it was already! It gave her the perfect excuse to venture outside and spend some quality time in nature! Of course, bonus points were needed for bringing her cute bunny!

Glancing at the book she was writing in, Kaitlyn nodded. “I decided to spend the time waiting for you by adding another entry … this time with a poem,” she explained. “Did you want to see it?”

Tori watched the two animals play. Demeter jumped towards Vick, and she smiled involuntarily as she watched Vick lunge in the other direction. Vick knew the rabbit wouldn't attack her or she would run towards her.

"Of course I'd love to see it."

She quickly read the writing in the journal that was lying on Kait's lap. The flow of the sentences on the page caught Tori's attention. She wasn't used to reading poetry, but she liked the Slytherin girl's writing.

"You are truly very talented. I loved it. I think you are both a poet and a witch in the making."

She spoke in a friendly tone. She had just remembered something. She took a chocolate bar out of her bag and handed it to Kait. She always kept a few extra chocolate bars in her bag.

"Do you want some? I have some candy in my bag if you want. So if you don't like chocolate I can give you some candy."

When she looked at Vick, she saw that he was going to the greenery in the garden rather than playing with Demeter. Tori called her mouse to her. When Vick came, she took out a storage container from the bag with some apples, breadcrumbs and almonds for lunch time and put them in one of the two feeding containers for the mice and filled the other container with water from the water bottle she took out of her bag and put it in front of her mouse.

Out of the corner of her eye, Kaitlyn spotted their pets playing together. Demeter hopped around, ocassionally eating grass. Tori’s rat, Vick, seemed to lunge in the other direction when Demeter got too close. A smile crossed her lips. As much trouble as Demeter could be at times, she liked how her Mist Hopper seemed to play well with other pets. If she really wanted to, she’d trust her bunny enough not to constantly watch them. Then again, that would make her an irresponsible pet owner. That was the last thing she wanted.

A light flush bloomed on Kaitlyn’s cheeks as Tori came over to look at her poem. Just like with her art, she wasn’t afraid to show her writings to others, either. Despite that fact, it was still a nerve-wracking experience. What if her work wasn’t done correctly? What if it was deemed terrible crap, a poor excuse that Merlin would frown upon?

Thankfully, those thoughts didn’t come to pass. A shy giggle escaped her lips at Tori’s compliments. Kaitlyn ran a shy hand through her hair. “Heh, thank you, Tori. That means a lot. I try my best,” she replied. It always surprised her when she was complimented on her work.

A surprised look crossed her face at the introduction of the chocolate bar from Tori. Kaitlyn quite enjoyed sweets, so this addition was well-welcomed! “Yes, please, thank you,” she beamed, as she accepted the chocolate bar. Without a second thought, she broke the bar in half and offered one of the halves to Tori. She was still that polite young girl, after all!

As Tori fed her mouse, Kaitlyn smiled kindly. “I love how attentive you are to Vick,” she complimented Tori.
