You saw the package. You saw the student with a strange glassy-eyed stare who offered the doll. Had he ever even spoken to you before? Had he ever even looked your way? The answer was no. He had never said your name. He had never made small talk, even said hello before today. But he seemed to know who you were, he saw your name and he knew exactly who to deliver this now opened package to.
Well, if that is not a red flag.
You were not going to accept the doll from them. In fact, they could keep it. Your gift to them. when another student commented on the fact that you had the sense to run, you could only agree. You also had enough sense to not engage. You left those two sickly appearing students alone also.
