Stage 76 - Forget Me Not
Stage 76 - Forget Me Not
You could not forget again. You could not let them take you. You fought, you clawed. You ripped and you tore until you were free. As you broke the roots that tried to bind you, the scent of rotted meat permeated the air. It was sharp and pungent, overwhelming. the sort of armona that would cause your stomach to flip over not once, but thrice. Yet it was such a strangely familiar scent.
"I saved your life." Cabrey insisted, but you were not about to listen. You could not listen, you needed to know.
You would have to run down the corridor that stretched seemingly endlessly. The floor behind you cracked and broke away.
"Let them take you!" Canbrey screamed.
You could see coming into vision, The Beyond. Well, you had no name for it, but it was the space beyond the corridor, this museum of forgotten memories. In this space you would see a field, barren and endless. You were never told this, you just somehow knew that this field was once green, it was not gray.
In this barren field Scarecrows stood between rows of nothing, protecting a harvest that would never come.
"You do not know what you're doing!"
They weren’t scarecrows. They had faces with closed eyes and house ties. Their robes, tattered and worn but each distinctive of their proud houses color. Wands dangled uselessly from stitched hands.
You left the corridor, only to stumble over the impending harvest. Bones jutted from furrows in the soil, pale and clean, like they had been taken rather than buried. Overhead, the sky rippled like fabric, held up by threads too fine to see. Perhaps that was why the sky was red, the same shade of scarlet as Twinkle's pointed hat. But they sky was fraying, snapping stitch by stitch.
Canbrey was at your side again.
“Don’t pull. If you remember everything, you won’t come back the same.” They were pleading.
Do you

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.
Stage 76 - Forget Me Not
Mellani finally fought herself free, and was hit by a pungent smell of rotting meat. Her stomach flipped, but she kept herself from retching. Gods only knew how long there was until she got something to eat. Somehow though, Mellani knew that smell was familiar.
The elf yelled that they had saved her life, but she did not hear them. If getting back her memories meant risking her life, she would do it. Her memories were a part of her and she wouldn't lose them this easily.
Mellani ran down the corridor which didn't seem to end. The ground beneath her cracked and the elf ask her to let the root take her. "Never.", she responded.
Slowly she started to see something. A green field with scarecrows in it. Mellani ignored the elf as she looked closer, noticing how the scarecrows were wearing house pride scarves and had wands. For what was the first time in a long while Fearless Mellani felt a little bit of fear creeping in. She would not become one of these. Mellani noticed the red sky. Something was very, very wrong. The sky was fraying, like it was made of threads.
The elf pleaded Mell to not pull at the thread. "Please shut up", Mellani said, doing exactly what she had been told not to do. She pulled.
