Closed Out into the Wild

Charles was overwhelmed. He and his parents strode towards the open platform, as Charles watched kids run right past him. It was unusually bright and sunny, the heat of the sun blared on his countenance. His eardrums filled with laughter from the kids contrasted by the sobs of the parents.

He could admit, it was a day of joy and sorrow. An opportunity to an adventurous and stimulating path ahead, while abandoning the usual comfort and solace of a home. His thorough study schedules and lessons should be enough to cross the finish lines first in his initial year. Charles's mother Clara, kneeling looked into his bold eyes.

"Charles... this is where we part for a while," she smiled like it was the most memorable moment of her entire life, "As an Azure, always make us proud, stay on top of your school work and explore all your interests and everything Hogwarts has to offer"

Charles was washed slightly with a sense of wretchedness, however deep down the nature of an astute, curious boy squirmed within. He enveloped his mother tightly and said his farewells. Charles brimming with a sense of confidence and a charm indescribable, stepped into the Hogwarts Express.

The carriages seemed inviting as the essence of comfort and belonging welcomed him with open arms. He scoured for a place to sit but noticed an open carriage, empty. Not a place to socialise but it will do for my time of contemplation.Charles thought, as he placed himself against the window.

The train hissed as it started to pick up speed. Charles relaxed and composed stared out of the window as they passed the platform. Guess it will be an eventful year!
