˙⋆✮ WHERE IT ALL BEGINS ✮⋆˙
After a month and a half, from the arrival of her Acceptance Letter to Hogwarts, the day of the departure finally came and saying that Kiara was thrilled, is an understatement.
Being a pureblood, she had always heard the stories of her parents and grandmother about their times at Hogwarts and she had been waiting for her moment all her life.
She could physically feel the blood pumping in her veins and her heart slamming against her chest with all its strength.
With her parents, her little hands gripping tightly the small cart carrying her trunk, she ran into the wall between platforms nine and ten. For a second, breath was snatched out of her lungs as she crossed the portal.
"Here we are." Michelle, Kiara's mother, whispered. At the sight of the flaming red train, a sudden nervousness had taken over the kid. Yes, she had dreamed about this day for years now, but it was like she had just realised that she was finally going to Hogwarts.
A heavy, gentle hand landed on her shoulder, grounding her and as she looked up, her father smiled at her. "Ready, little one?" Kiara took a deep breath, closing her eyes. Then, she nodded. "Ready." She replied, trying to sound as confident as possible, despite the sudden anxiety.
They both smiled proudly "You'll see, it'll be great. You'll be great." Michelle reassured her.
Her mother leaned down, kissing her cheek with a loud popping sound, her father on her forehead. With a wave, Kiara took a few steps towards the train. Then, slowly, she turned and ran back to her parents, hugging them tightly. All three of them stayed there for a few seconds as the little girl basked in the warmth of her parents' arms. "I love you." She said as they pulled away. "We'll miss you, sweetie." Her mother replied almost tearing up, while Angel, affectionately amused by her emotion, lovingly wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
As Kiara jumped on the train, the clock struck eleven and with a last glance from the window of her compartment and one last wave at her mom and dad, Kiara's journey began.
"We are what we repeatedly do; excellence, then, is not an act but a habit"
