You decide to be rid of it, not by fire, not by flight, but by returning it to the earth. Perhaps you think of the doll as a soul in need of release. A restless spirit must be buried.

The overcast sky released its burden and it rained.

This was the kind of rain that soaked through the trees and made the soil bleed black. You could feel the chill through your cloak if you wore one. The wind carried the chill of an early morning even as the day pressed on.

The doll(s) didn’t move, but it felt heavier than it should. Damp. Dense. You searched and eventually found a spot behind the Greenhouses, near the edge of the Forbidden Forest. The earth resisted your shovel like it knew what you were doing.

You didn’t say a prayer. There is nothing worth praying to that would have wanted this soul. You didn’t say goodbye.

You dropped the doll(s) into the pit, watching its button eyes vanish into the dark. You covered it with dirt until the fabric disappeared. You then left it there. Alone in an unmarked grave.

When you returned to the castle, you would find the doll waiting for you in your next class. They arrived even before you. Its burlap skin was slick with mud, worms still curling from its seams. One button eye was scratched, cracked, like it had clawed its way back to you.

And this time… it smelled like the earth.

It growled.
Do you:

Toss it in the Lake → Go to Stage 46

Burn Them Go to → Stage 6b

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

It was raining. Normally, rain set Maisie at ease, but with this strange doll by her side, she felt anything but ease.

Quickly, she ran outside and found the first piece of clean grass she could. Thankfully, just beyond the greenhouses, she was able to borrow a shovel. Moving earth was not exactly easy for a weakling like Maisie. Beads of sweat quickly accumulated on her brow.

But in time, the hole was made and the doll thrown inside.

Relief, that was all she could feel.

That is, until she moved onto her next class and there it was was. Her eyes widened as she wondered now if she should tell someone. But regardless, one thing was clear: she had to get rid of it.
