Dark Magic

I was exhausted, tossing and turning in bed. It was around 2:50 AM.
I couldn’t sleep… Dark and wicked thoughts lingered endlessly in my mind. My name had to be immortalized in history. I had to make a change. These thoughts had been haunting me for days, refusing to fade away. The dark voices grew louder and louder, stealing sleep from my eyes. I couldn’t take it anymore…
I got up and ran toward Limon’s bed.
Well… I woke her up in the worst possible way. I yelled, “Lemon!”
She had every right to be scared, to jolt awake with wide eyes and slap me across the face. For a few minutes, we just stared at each other in shock. I blinked a few times.
“Umm… well, I wanted to tell you—I have a plan. You have to help me. Let’s go to the potion room. I have a lot to talk to you about… okay?”
---
Lemon looked at me as if I had gone insane.
"Hey, don’t look at me like that… You know, I’m tired. I’m tired of no one taking us seriously. Why is it always the others who get to be dangerous and ruthless?
Come on, Lemon, you don’t actually think the world is like a Disney movie… We both know that darkness and evil are far more powerful now. You should come with me… I want you by my side.
You know… there were wars in the past so that purebloods could rule over others. But you and I both know that Muggle-borns have suffered far more.
We’re better than them. We earned our magic through our own worth, not just because of who our parents were. Let your name be immortalized in history—even if it’s for something dark.
In fact, let’s be the first Dark Wizards of Hufflepuff.”

The theme was hope,
something more sacred than life.

"You're insane!" What had gotten into Rosa? This was not what I would have expected from them. But... why do I feel so curious and eager to hear the plan? No. It's not a good idea. I'll get expelled, maybe even arrested and sent to Azkaban! But what harm is there in hearing just a little bit more?
Surely John can't be planning anything dangerous? Surely she doesn't actually want to hurt anyone, right? I mean, she probably just wants to play a little joke on the others, to get a little bit of revenge. No, not revenge. Revenge sounds too... bad... too evil? Justice is a better word for it. And, to be honest, I was starting to feel a bit frustrated at all of the weird looks and snide comments people have always given me.
I paused, trying not to sound too eager. If I responded too quickly, she might think that I was of the same mind as her, that I wanted to hurt others, if that's even what she was talking about. "What do you mean?" I asked tentatively, shifting slightly to get into a more comfortable position. The moon was bright and cast a beam of cool light to shine onto my bed.
