xxxxIn the vast European expanse, proudly standing between the likes of Switzerland and Spain, lies the country of France—who's idealistic characterization was attributed to the poets and artists alike, elevating its beauty in an innumerable amount of sonnets and compositions. Well, Hana highly disagreed with the artisans, silently cursing their spirits for placing the nation on such a pedestal. Quite honestly, she was finding her experience in France to be lackluster.

The illusory, ivory château stood hidden among the vast Pyrenees mountains of Southern France. Beauxbatons. Her information on the school was quite scarce—rarely did anyone in the Bakir lineage move to France or any of its surrounding nations, and thus no one of Bakir blood attended Beauxbaton. However, the opinions she were currently forming on the school were entirely adverse. Infact, she found she despised everything about this wretched trip. She particularly held a deep resentment towards the lavish, yet playful architecture, finding it all too bright. If it weren't for the threat of potential expulsion lingering over her head, Hana would have watched from a distance as the opulent castle burst into flames. Finally, a sight to behold. For the very first time, the Slytherin found herself longing for the stone walls and carpeted floors of Hogwarts; because while she'd much rather prefer the dark, dreary halls of her family home, the seemingly endless corridors of the stone fortress were growing more familiar with the passing days.

Nights were absolutely unbearable, her body refusing her an ounce of sleep due to the lack of familiarity to her new environment. Each night, the gentle radiance of the moon passed through the small windows from across her bed, enveloping her in a silvery blanket as she listened in on the quiet sounds emitting from her cabinmates. Someone quietly snored—Hana assumed it to be the raven-haired lioness or the unfamiliar boy from the foreign school. And with an unnatural quietude, she would creep from her twin-sized bed to the drawing room and simply stare at the dying flames dancing in the hearth.

Tonight served to be no different.

Tucking her face in her arms, Hana exhaled as the light of the flickering fire was gradually replaced by the rising sun. She felt strange, had been for quite some time; the abnormal feeling initially settling in her stomach before spreading to the rest of her body—it felt as if her body was constantly on fire. In a moment, she decided she needed to leave now. Abruptly, she stood up and swiftly retreated to the bedroom to retrieve her outfit for the day.

Soon, Hana was welcomed by a wintry chill as she exited the shared cabin, gently shutting the door as to not wake her cabinmates. She opted to not don a wig today, allowing her black bob to make its monthly appearance. Her black skirt viciously swayed with the unforgiving breeze as Hana began her trek to the main castle; what she was planning on doing, she wasn't quite sure. What she did know was that she needed to escape the prison she'd been forced to reside in for the remaining portion of the week.

Soon, her footsteps transitioned from heavy thuds to light clicks as the scenery changed from the dangerous, icy tundra to the bright marble Hana had grown to resent. She wandered aimlessly, until Hana found herself outside once more—a horrendous amount of green blinding her. Ah, the unfortunate yearly event of winter transitioning into spring. What a tragic way of life.

Inhaling deeply, Hana stepped further into the garden, her eyes scanning the large lawn only to find it barren of any life... except for a young girl standing a bit away, her back to Hana. Making haste, the youngest Bakir made her way to the girl, leaning over her shoulder to look at her from the side.

"Hello there, it is odd to be occupying the gardens at such an hour, no?"

If there was one thing Beauxbatons had over Hogwarts, it was the open sky, and the abundance of stars. Nights in Hogwarts castle were Adeline's favorite- silence, solitude, freedom. More often than not, the young girl found herself tucked into the towering window frames of Ravenclaw Tower, simply admiring the twinkle of the stars, letting them in on her deepest secrets and desires, and imagining how they would respond. They knew her better than any living being ever could. Her time at Beauxbatons proved no different, but, tonight, rather than admiring from her window, Adeline had settled on clearing her mind with some early morning stargazing in the gardens.

Quietly, Adeline prepared herself for her little adventure. She pulled on a pair of thick-knit, wooly leggings, topped with olive legwarmers , followed by a pale tawny hued skirt, (x) and a chunky, multi-colored sweater sent to Adeline from back home in Tenby. (x) The young Ravenclaw tied her hair into a long, messy braid, strands of loose chocolate hair framing her face delicately. Careful not to wake her cabin mates, Addie packed her satchel with only the necessities; her leather journal, quill, wizard camera, developing solution, and a perfectly green apple. She buttoned her satchel and quietly padded to the door- she was ready.

Adeline wandered through the moon-bathed gardens, the pleasantness of simple solitude causing a small smile to pull at the corners of her lips. The young girl let intuition guide her, winding aimlessly through the hedges, trees, and towering statuary surrounding her, before discovering a quaint, open courtyard. The lack of trees in the immediate area made the space feel more open, allowing the moons rays to illuminate the clearing, and making for the perfect star-gazing spot. Adeline wandered to the center of the clearing and lowered herself down onto the cold, dewy grass below. The sensation was grounding- it felt as though the earth below her was holding her carefully, calmly, and with love. The blue-eyed girl ran her fingers through the cool, damp grass as if to say hello.

Hours passed. As the stars slowly faded into a peachy sunrise, Adeline relished in the tranquil simplicity of the world stirring to life- the soft symphony of birds, the beautiful purple Iris' stretching towards the ever-rising sun, the way that the sky cast a pinkish glow over everything the light touched. It was heavenly. Only the brightest of stars lingered above at this point, the moon slowly shrinking away with them. With a yawn, Adeline rose from her spot in the grass, dusting bits of dirt and debris off of her skirt as she did so. While the night had been lovely Adeline had failed to notice the myriad of blooms lining the garden, their vibrant colors had only come to life in the sun.

The girl rustled around her satchel for her camera, eager to document this moment, and her night. A patch of Asphodels and Gentians sprouted from the earth like a perfect bouquet, practically beginning for their close-up. Addie pulled her camera from her satchel, wiped the lens, and brought the viewfinder to her eye. Just as she was capturing the photo, a disturbance Adeline never would have anticipated stopped her in her tracks.

"Hello there, it is odd to be occupying the gardens at such an hour, no?" That flat tone, that familiar cadence. It simply couldn't be. The intruders all-too familiar aura pierced through Addie immediately, causing the hairs on the back of her neck to prickle, and her heart to race. She didn't need to look. She knew exactly who had stumbled upon her; the source of many of Addie's sleepless nights, the prepossessing shadow hanging in every corner, the lovely ghost who haunted the halls of her mind. Hana Bakir.

Addie swallowed down her anxiousness, gripping her hands into fists at her sides in an effort to suppress her heightened emotion. "I could ask you the same question." The Ravenclaw girl stated simply. She turned to face Hana, taking a pace back from her. The girl was draped in layers of pitch black frills, embodying her hauntingly beautiful presence to a T. Classic Hana. The Ravenclaw's attention was drawn back to the camera in her hands. "Rats..." Addie spat under her breath, realizing her picture had come out blurry, and unfocused. "To answer your question, I was in the middle of admiring the blooms." In a moment of impulse, the blue-eyed girl plucked a cluster of indigo Gentians from the earth, and extended them towards Hana as a simple gift. Adeline's cheeks flushed light pink as she began to speak once more. "You seem vaguely familiar..." An understatement, at best. "I'm Adeline, and you are?" Adeline feigned a quizzical expression, her composure hanging on by a thread.
