After four years and multiple inquiries, Leonardo Ricardo Chiadovini, the sole male heir of Ricardo Benvolio Chiadovini and Seer of the oft-scrutinized Chiadovini lineage has been exonerated of the charges of patricide and homicide in the first degree due to the capture and identification of Rachelle Daria Althaus, who confessed to the crime after a monthlong interrogation by Italian authorities. Rachelle, who was captured on 13 February 2025 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, was intercepted before she travelled to the United Kingdom due to a tip from an anonymous whistleblower pertaining to an unrelated crime of forgery and evasion of justice. She had an international warrant issued due to a forgery that accounted for the severe embezzlement of invaluable items and potion ingredients from the distribution company Arcaobscura in 2018 that are now lost to the Black Market. It is believed that profits made from this crime were used for bribery and subsequent obscurance of the Chiadovini murder. Additional difficulties in capturing Rachelle sooner was due to the further discovery that Althaus possesses the talent of shapeshifting due to being a Metamorphmagus.i It is unknown as to how many faces she has used to commit other crimes at this time. The Pureblooded German Althaus family has revealed that it disowned her as a member of the family in 2022, and that her former husband denounced her after claiming full custody of their daughter soonafter. During her interrogation, Rachelle refused to answer questions pertaining to her parts in the forgery and embezzlement cases or on questions in relation to the method of murder she used on Ricardo Benvolio. Her wand, a 14 inch basilisk horn and yew wood wand with slightly rigid nature, was inspected, but no spells that would have aligned with the facts of Ricardo Chiadovini's death were found. |

However, when questioned on the motive for her murder, Rachelle insinuated the presence of a blood feud with the Chiadovini family, quoting: ────────────── "The Wizarding World should not attempt to interfere with the natural consequences of right amending a wrong..  ... The Chiadovinis are a blight on the Wizarding World. They have outlived their time and should have died before germinating into a lineage of murderers." ──────────── Having been found in possession of full mental capacity and judgement, Rachelle pled guilty to the knowing and premeditated murder of Ricardo Chiadovini in a plea bargain to avoid the death penalty, was found guilty on her charges of embezzlement and forgery, and has been sentenced to life without parole in Azkaban. This conviction marks another verifiable murder in a long string present in the Chiadovini family's history, a seeming continuation of an alleged curse that the lineage has possessed since its founding in the mid-1500s. Renowned as a self-proclaimed "Truly" Pure lineage since its height of power in the 1800s and despite its fall from grace in the mid-20th century during the First and Second Wizarding Wars, the family primarily stakes its claim to fame in its lineage of "True-Breeding" Seer sons, a claim which appears soon to be tested once more in the form of Leonardo Ricardo's son, whose name has been omitted from this article at the request of his family for his safety. Leonardo Ricardo, who had formerly been the primary suspect in the murder of his father, has now been released from most of the lingering inquisitions that had taken place in the year after his father's death. Speculations continue concerning as to if he may have been instead involved in the periphery of the mysterious death, as a method of demise still has not been determined besides that of either mundane or dark nature. Rumors still circulate concerning the Chiadovini heir's standing to inherit the family fortune, said to be currently in the possession of his widowed mother as opposed to himself: a flagrant breach in family tradition & a potential motive. |

In an interview with Eviana Verity Udinesi, Giselle Luciana Udinesi, and Guinevere Veronica Chiadovini, we asked for their feelings on the case's closure. "We are pleased that the perpetrator of this crime against our joined houses has been apprehended and punished in accordance with her ghastly crime against the venerated Chiadovini house." Eviana, the mother of Leonardo's young boy, said with both her own mother and Ricardo's wife nodding alongside. "Let it be known that neither the Chiadovinis or the Udinesis will crumble under the threats of those who seek our downfall. For every attack, we shall return stronger and keener. The teeth of those who attempt to tear us down will shatter for their feeble efforts. This has been true of the past, it shall continue to ring true today." "Ricardo was a remarkable man in his field of expertise." Guinevere concurred. "I had no doubts that justice would be ensured for our family, and that his name and legacy would be preserved both in our family history and in the community's. I thank the Ministry for their efforts and for the conviction of one that may have wished to further her appetite for death on others." "The Chiadovinis are an old and powerful familial tie in our history. We have watched them grow and flourish along with our own family from their earliest generations." The soft sentiment came from Giselle. "We hope to see them flourish for many more years, and to ensure that any rivalling faction that continues to wish them ill be dealt with." Leonardo Ricardo Chiadovini, who has had a historically tumultuous relationship with the other three interviewees, was not able to be contacted for his personal remarks on the matter. |
