Rivals in the Shelves

Once or twice a week, the girl was heading to the library and settled into a quiet study room. These sessions usually tooked less than an hour. Yuki was a hard-worker, perhaps a little too much. It wasn't even a matter of pressure or excessive expectations, but rather of her volunty. Her parents had warned her against trying too hard, but she couldn't help it. Every bad grade were lefting her feeling helpless, forcing her to catch up and understand the points she'd struggled to grasp, no matter her epuisment. That day, she was tackling the worst subject of all, her personal nightmare: history. From the first History of Magic class, Yuki knew she was going to hate it. It was long and, in her opinion, completely pointless. Sure, she was understanding that the history of Hogwarts was important, but this was so... boring. With a sigh, she sat down at a table and began taking notes on the key points. She passed her hand in her hair distractly. Her mind wandered, -despite of herself- , drifting to her older brother, Brian. He was a Gryffindor, but she rarely saw him. He had chosen to specialize in History of Magic. Perhaps he could help her The problem was that he was always busy, constantly on his toes. He was an incredibly caring and extremely protective brother, but she didn't want to disturb him. Maybe it was a family's problem to work excessively. Shaking her head, Yuki focused on her scroll again. But after a moment, she realized she was missing some informations. She stood up and headed toward the shelves, looking for the first-year history book. Spotting it a little higher, she reached out to grab it when a cold voice stopped her in her tracks. •──────────•
