King's Cross Station M O O D:
70% Thrilled and 30% Terrified
This is it. The moment I’ve been waiting for—and dreading—for months. I’m standing in front of the barrier to Platform 9¾, ticket clenched so tightly in my hand that it’s probably a little crumpled. I can hear the rumble of trains, the chatter of Muggles rushing past, completely unaware that just beyond this wall, there’s a train waiting to take me to an entirely different world.
I should be ecstatic. And I am. Sort of. I mean, how many people get to say they’re actually going to learn magic? Real magic. Not just reading about it, not just imagining it, but actually doing it. I’ve spent years devouring every book I could find about fantasy worlds, and now I get to live in one. It’s incredible.
But it’s also terrifying. What if I don’t fit in? What if everyone already knows so much more magic than I do? What if I’m the only one who struggles? And the Sorting—what if I don’t belong anywhere? Everyone talks about the four houses like they define who you are, but what if I don’t fit neatly into one? What if they take one look at me and decide I shouldn’t be here at all?
I know I’m overthinking, but I can’t help it. I keep imagining myself running at this barrier only to slam straight into it, proving to the entire station that I was never magical in the first place. That it was all a mistake, a cruel joke.
Ugh, I need to stop. Worrying won’t change anything, and I’ve made it this far, haven’t I? The letter was real. The magic is real. And I’m about to be a real Hogwarts student.
One step through the barrier, and everything changes.
Deep breath. Here goes nothing.

Bonelli's Eagle Dormitory M O O D:
Wonderstruck, wide awake, and ready
For a few moments after waking up, I forgot everything. I was just… warm, comfortable, and curled up beneath the softest blankets I’ve ever felt. The room was dim, with only the faintest golden light creeping in. My brain, still groggy, told me I was home.
And then I opened my eyes.
The ceiling was impossibly high, arching overhead in graceful stone curves. The bed was bigger than anything I’d ever slept in, draped in deep blue, and the room had this strange, almost otherworldly glow. And just like that, the realization hit me all at once. I’m at Hogwarts.
I’m here.
It’s funny how quickly excitement can replace sleepiness. I sat up so fast that I nearly tangled myself in the blankets. I turned to look around the dormitory—the one I had carefully picked, the one with the stunning enchanted windows that showed the endless night sky no matter the time of day. It was breathtaking, but even more so now that I could look at it properly, without the haze of exhaustion.
I half expected to wake up again, to find this was all a dream, but it’s real. It’s all real. The Sorting, the Great Hall, the floating candles, the food, the hundreds of other students all buzzing with energy… it wasn’t some story I read in a book. It was my life now.
And the best part? It’s only just beginning.
I can’t wait to see the castle in the daytime, to go to my first class, to touch my wand again and practice real magic. There are still nerves, of course, but right now, they don’t feel as heavy. Right now, all I can feel is the absolute wonder of it all.
I think I’m going to like it here.
