Write The Magic Words
Hundreds of students and teachers have visited this castle, have come and gone, have learned spells and given on their knowledge to eager first-years, have grown up, have made mistakes and grown lifelong bonds. And some of them have filled their time with words.
As you peruse through the library, browsing in the shelves, you may have found a black leather-bound notebook with blank pages, the only words gleaming on his cover reading The magic words. With those the pages were filled, with thoughts of so many - scribbling, noting, penning students wanting to write. Thus not used to create a spell, these words owned a very special magic - the magic of poetry. The book miraculously never seemed to end, and every mind overflowing with colourful thoughts and stories could be sure to find a home here.
After all this time?
- Always.

Write The Magic Words
Wish at Night
(Directed to the Sorting Hat)
by Leah Cunningham
Veil of quietness
surrounding me
I've reached it all, I'm here and yet
don't seem to want to be
I'm gazing up every night
up at stars far away,
at another future - different? Bright?,
at what could have become...
I make a wish.
I imagine.
running my fingers over your soft leather
my hand closing around your pointed top
fingering your rim
all my dreams... you made them stop
I still hear it,
your voice rising in the hall
and I curl up, I cry...
I'm going to fall...
I make a wish.
I repulse at the green,
colour of serpents,
of Dark spells and curses,
of cunning tongues and too much self-esteem.
I make a wish,
knowing that it will never come true,
knowing that this is no game
and I don't have a second chance
in placing you upon my head.
Never.
Oh...
I make a wish.
After all this time?
- Always.
