Meeting someone new

Kaya was thinking about where to go today. It was her first time visiting this school and she was attempting to learn as much as she could. So, preparing herself and going out of the cabin, she was slowly walking through the gardens.
It seemed to take rather huge area, and Kaya wasn't sure she could explore it all in one day. Decorations for Valentine's Day were expected and she no longer was focusing on them. But all the trees, statues and shape shifting plants were attracting her.
She was happy these days. Spending some time with Yasha, meeting with Amber. However, now she was alone. Taking some time for herself and her thoughts. With approaching Valentine's Day, Kaya was starting to think more about letter and valentine that she was going to write. What should she write? Should she sign her name? Kaya didn't know.
Lost in her thoughts she kept walking around, till she came to something that looked like a perfect place for meeting. But who was she going to meet? Kaya didn't know yet. She sat down and tried to appreciate the moment. Peaceful. It was calm and peaceful. That was something she started to like more lately.
Beauxbatons seemed to be quite interesting. Obviously different from Ilvermorny and Hogwarts. For a second she wondered if she ever could see other schools one day. There were so many students here and so many opportunities for meeting new people.

Reuben had decided to come to Beauxbatons despite knowing that Lorelai @Violeta Roux, who he was beginning to doubt had any interest in him, would probably not come. Or she would come and would decide not to meet him, he wish he knew. Maybe this was why people said long distance never worked out - you had no way of knowing what the other person was thinking. Some part of him still wished that it was all him overthinking, and Lorelai was just to busy. He really hoped that part was right, because he did not know about her, but he still loved her.
Reuben was pretty alone in this school. He had thought of asking Zophyr @Mahlioz Evethisawe to come, but he never came around to actually doing it. Recently, he had just been pretty lonely, and spent most of his time sulking in his room. Who would have thought that this sunshine boy was actually starting to becaome sad?
However, he never let the sadness show on his face when in front of other people. He still tried to be his normal talkative annoying self when it came to strangers. It was like his happy self was a mask that he put on just to get away from himself. He had become so skilled at walking around with this mask, that he barely ever even felt real. To think a little solitude was enough to remind him that he wasn't the happiest person on earth.
He walked around, looking at all the Valentines Day decorations and wishing he was there with Lorelai. Gods, he missed her. He looked around and noticed a girl sitting alone on a bench. Might as well go and talk to her. It would save him from his misery, if only for a while.
He approached the girl. "Hi! I'm Reuben Garcia from Uagadou, and you are?" He smiled at her. Oh how easily this cheerful mask came to him. "Aren't the decorations beautiful? Also the weather is so good, I'm so glad I came here. It's such an amazing way to escape from the extreme heat of Africa. Also I know I am very talkative, so if you would rather I shut up, please feel free to say so."

Kaya was immersed in enjoying the moment when she heard someone approaching her. She looked at the guy who introduced himself and smiled back before replying. Hi, Reuben. I'm Kaya Rose Bennett, Ilvermorny. She listened to him talking and was surprised by how many topics he combined in one sentence. However, she didn't mind it. Decorations? They are. But did you notice those bushes changing their forms? I think it's even more fascinating. Is it still very hot now? I never visited any country in Africa before. Also I don't mind your talking. Talk as much as you want.
Her voice came as soft and calm. Little bit excitement could be heard when she talked about bushes and Africa. Do you like this trip? It's a nice experience to get to visit Beauxbatons. It seems more calm here than Hogwarts visits.
Or was it calm just for her? Kaya didn't know. She enjoyed the place. Spent some time with Amber and Yasha and could distract even more from all that was happening. Fall disaster bringing Ilvermorny forest experience. She needed a pause and this trip was giving her exactly this: peace.
Did you get new friends while we are here? She asked Reuben, finally distracted from her thoughts. He would be her first friend from Uagadou. It was something that made it even more special.

Reuben smiled at Kaya, and took out one of the paper flower bouquets that he had brought with himself, and gave it to Kaya. "Nice to meet you, Kaya, here are some paper flowers that I'm giving to everyone I come across here!"
When the girl talked about the bushes, Reuben nodded along. "Yeah, it always amazes me how magic just makes everything so beautiful! And yeah, Africa is hot pretty much all the time. It's a surprise I haven't been burnt alive yet."
When she asked if Reuben liked the trip, his answer was only half-truths, because there was no way he was telling someone he just met about how lonely he felt, and how he missed Lorelai even more seeing other couples. "Yeah! It's a really nice and peaceful place and definitely a change from the usual trips to Hogwarts!"
The girl seemed really happy here. She asked Reuben if he had made any friends so far on the trip. "Not yet. Would you like to be the first one?", he asked, extending his hand. How long this friendship would last, he didn't know, but it always felt good to go to Hogwarts, see someone and actually be able to recognize them, maybe even say hi.
"So, how's the weather and stuff at Ilvermorny? Also, same question to you, did you make any new friends at this trip, or am I going to be your first?"
