Among The Pages
Adaryn had been busy with her book on a big wooden table in the library, with lamps overhead illuminating the rows of shelves. The gentle sound of pages turning provided an ambience that infused the still somewhat muted silence of the library. Adaryn was reading parts of her Herbology textbook and trying to recall from the text all details about magical plants.
Once in a while, she would look away from her book and let her eyes flick briefly over the library at students seated at their stations or engaged in polite conversation. Adaryn really felt at home in places like that. There was always an uncanny serenity in the place with the hush left behind from the outside world beyond that gigantic, heavy door of the library. With the tip of her finger, Adaryn was tapping the cover of her textbook while contemplating some of the notes she had poured over earlier in the day for Herbology From that particular day forward, her thoughts had drifted over to wonderful, magical plants with healing and nurturing properties for animals. She could picture herself one day doing just that.
The whisper of her quill upon parchment accompanied her humming in a soft undertone as she turned the page and plunged herself into her studies, all the while keeping the door to join her open for whoever wanted to. It was in those moments, the steady rhythm of the quill gliding along the parchment, soft rustle of the parchment, and a million memories of where she has come from since stepping into the portals of the magical Hogwarts: silent alliances worlds apart from this one but altogether sharing it because of her own rightness.
