Excitement bubbled in the pit of her stomach.

Slowly it began to conquer every limb until the fuzzy feeling rose to her head and caused her to feel a bit light headed. Everything was so incredibly overwhelming -- but in a good way. Ever since she had received her acceptance letter, life had certainly taken them for a whirl. It was safe to say that Evie was scared. . . but she was so excited to step into this brand new world that was only ever a dream.

Today -- today it was tangible.

It was also cold. With a heated huff, Evie pulled her coat closer, nuzzling her nose into the handmade scarf her mother had finished for her for her new adventure. Hazel eyes danced over the sea of families and students that chattered away, buzzing with thrill and (brief) sadness all at once. It was interesting to witness, honestly, getting here in general was enough adventuring for her family, that's for sure. Evie let out a giggle as she fondly recalled her mother panicking as they ran through the wall. Ah, her mother..

With everything packed and boarded, the only thing left was to say her goodbyes which was possibly the hardest thing she'd had to do so far. Finding her mother off to the side away from the crowds, she was seemingly trying her hardest to stay put together. A slight tinge of guilt gnawed in the back of young Evie's mind, but she tried to push that aside for now while making her way over with a reassuring smile.

"Mami.." Evie hummed lovingly, reaching out to gently grasp her mother's balled hand,"I'll be back before you know it and I'll keep in touch, you know that."

With slim shoulders visibly shaking from how much she was trying to hold back her sobs, Maria Teniente wasn't known to be such a cry baby, but with her only daughter leaving her for an unknown world, she felt as if everything were falling apart. Her dark eyes, slightly swollen from a night of crying, took in the sea of children with their own families until she got the courage to see her own daughter looking up at her with sympathetic eyes.

"Mi niña hermosa (my beautiful girl)," she hiccuped, gently combing away the dark stray strands of hair away from her face,"I'm going to miss you so much. You better keep in touch when you can, and pay attention. Just because you're away from home doesn't mean you start slacking."

Evie laughed and nodded some before the whistle of the train alerted the time. Seeing the other students begin to get on the train, Evie glanced at her mother again and leaned up on her toes to give her mother a kiss on the cheek. Until her mother kept her longer to begin reciting the rosary and marking her with a blessing.

"To keep you safe." she always said.

With a final embrace, Evie said goodbye and made her way over to step onto the train. She searched through the hall, unsure of where to really go until she found an empty compartment. Glancing around to make sure no one had called dibs, she slipped inside and sat down on the cushion seat, slowly allowing herself to relax slightly and let it all sink in.

Here we go.
