ooc notes-Still living the life at Beauxbatons, Sage had moved from her Ocean themed cabin to the grounds of the French school. She'd briefly seen the snow-capped mountain range and the gardens when she'd arrived. They looked more beautiful than anything she'd ever seen in her thirteen years.
xxxxSetting off for the gardens first, Sage walked slowly. Every second in France wouldn't feel like enough, she wanted to make the most of it by taking in every spare detail. Oh, she loved France already.
xxxxAs she entered the Beauxbatons garden, she could only think of how well they cared for their plants. She remembered six years ago, a chance meeting with an American in that park in Kent, and an injured plant. He- Miles- would be glad to see that the Beauxbatons plants were out of harm's way, she figured. She was glad, too.
xxxxShe reached for one of the delicate French flowers, you didn't see them like that back in Hogwarts or Kent! She brushed her forefinger gently against its bud, bright colors glinting to her eyes. She would have to tell Cassie about the flower, if she could determine its species.
xxxxKneeling to another flower, this one a light blue like the Beauxbatons' students' uniforms, a smile covered Sage's mouth. She loved being there in France, in the gardens, away from... everything.
xxxxPart of her wondered about Miles, how he was doing. Would the American have traveled so far? Despite that, would he even remember that crying child he'd met those six years ago?

Calling out to @Sage Willows
Miles had escaped. He had escaped his own Ilvermorny classmates and distanced himself from the rest of the students from the other wizarding schools. He had left his cabin and he had wandered far away from the beautiful castle of Beauxbatons. He had traveled out to the Pyrenees Mountains and gathered some Mountain Pine from the trees - which could be used for a variety of purposes from therapeutic baths, tea for releaving congestion, and pinecone syrup. He was careful of what part he took from the plant, ensuring that the trees that he gathered them from would still be able to grow and flourish - unharmed by him.
Perhaps that is what gravitated Miles to the natural world of flora more than fauna or humankind. Plants gave. Plants gave oxygen to breath, food to nourish the body, nutrients to fortify health, and beauty to behold.
And nature didn't care about trivial things - like Valentine's Day the day before this day and whether or not one was alone - or whether one's mind was persistently occupied with the thought of one particular person that was out of reach.
Miles would first arrive back toward the castle and if he continued on he would make it to his cabin but first he was curious to see what the garden at Beauxbatons looked like. No, he wouldn't be gathering anything from them but he was curious to see exactly what sort of nature they deemed important enough to showcase.
Blue flowers were everywhere and there was an elegance about the place that probably put the royal gardens from long ago to shame. They seemed to go on and on forever, spilling into another section and another but not in a maze-like quality, but rather a calming sort of journey. One only had to keep walking and they knew exactly where they had been but also felt as though an adventure into the unexpected was up ahead. It kept him moving forward and he was grateful this space didn't seem heavily occupied by the others - Beauxbaton natives or other visitors. The last thing he needed was to come across a couple making out on a bench, still enjoying the 'splendors' of Valentines Day.
As he turned a corner, he could see a girl ahead, examining one of the many light blue flowers in the gardens. Her touch seemed gentle and Miles was glad to come across someone else that seemed to respect nature.
Just as he was contemplating whether to greet her or just walk past, raindrops began to fall. It was a soft showering that in two blinks of an eye turned into a downpour. If it hadn't been so unusually warm there that particular day, this would be the start of quite the snowstorm.
"Pluvia Velo," he said quickly, casting the Umbrella Spell and shielding himself magically from the falling rain. A bright flash was seen shooting across the sky in the not so distant distance and it almost instantly was followed by a crash of loud thunder. "We should probably find an overhang or somewhere for shelter," he called out to the girl over the sound of the falling rain. There were a lot of trees nearby and they were the type that had far-stretching roots. It wasn't safe to be standing near them in a thunderstorm.
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

ooc notes-Sage would have stayed in that garden for the rest of her life if she could have. Tall tales, ones she'd read about and been told about, surrounded her head as every moment passed in the garden. Persephone in her garden, Eve in her grounds.
xxxxShe turned her head as footsteps sounded near her. The face, one belonging to an older boy, seemed slightly familiar. She couldn't put her finger on why though. Maybe he just had one of those faces.
xxxxShe repositioned herself to study another flower, this time a purple bud. As her hand extended to clutch the stem of the flower, a raindrop fell into her palm.
She stood quickly to seek shelter from the impending storm when she heard the boy speak.
xxxxShe fumbled for her own wand, pulling it from her pocket. Her voice repeated the same spell the boy had said, the spell she'd learned in Charms last year. "Pluvia Velo."
xxxxHer charm shielded her from the rain as she walked over to join the boy. She frowned for a moment, deep in thought. She could have sworn she'd seen him before. Had it just been at Beauxbatons? Or did she have a history with this boy?
xxxxShe squinted out of the garden and her eyes found an overhang. "Over here," she called. Once the two- if the boy followed her- were settled under the overhang, Sage would say, "You look familiar. Have we met before?"
