The bell above the door jingled as Erendriel stepped into Magical Menagerie a pet shop, Eren's have been excited to this day. The shop was a lively and warm, a place filled with the sounds of rustling feathers, soft meows, hisses, and other noises of the pets through the shelves.

"Welcome dearie!" A woman appeared with a tall broad-shouldered man beside her. "Do you have a specific pet you wish to purchase? Or, do you need some help?"


"No ma'am. I can manage" Erendriel said, as her eyes darted across the shop with the sight of every creatures. Her parents let her explore the shop to look for a pet, her father said that it will be a great experience for her. A pet is more than just a pet, It is a bond for life that is somehow similar to finding a soulmate.

Erendriel paused on the cats den, specifically by a brown cat lounging on a velvet cushion. Eyes half-lidded as it stretched, she has a beautiful emerald eyes. The cats are playing with their toys, others are sleeping, and some are staring at her with great curiosity. She tried to touch the emerald-eyed cat, she only flicked its tail lazily and yawned at her and move on. Erendriel found them exceptionally cute, so she smiled but shook her head. The cats are distant, perhaps because they likely dislike me.

She took her time to considerately consider each animals. Next stop are on the cages. Noses twitch and ears perk on the rabbits, their fur looks quite soft like the clouds. Then, a cluster of Pygmy Puffs squeaked, hairy creatures and looks so fragile. Next, she passed a ferret scurrying up a wooden perch full of energy.

Rabbit? No. Pygmy puffs? Nope. How about a ferret? Another no, they're too rowdy and frisky. Erendriel sighs.

She wandered further, Then she heard a deep resonant hoot. Perched on a thick wooden stand was the most breathtaking owl she had ever seen. The owl's form is massive. Pure white feathers was heavily draped on its body, and it is radiating an unmistakable aura of elegance and strength.

Is it possible to invariably feel when something is right?

Erendriel put her hands on the owl's head, trying her luck to pet it. The owl did not flinch nor it did not shy away. It simply watched her—steady and patient then it moves its head to leaned forward to her palm.

Oh, it's you… You're gorgeous! The owl stretched its wings briefly before settling again, as if to say Yes I am

Slowly, she lifted a hand. The owl brushed its head gently against her fingers. A surge of warmth filled her chest, every doubt melted along with any hesitation.

The shop owner stepped beside her, watching the silent exchange. "The owl's a girl, dear. You’ve made your decision?"

"Yes" Erendriel breathed. She turned her eyes up to her. "This one. She’s mine." She didn’t need to look at anything else nor she didn’t need to second-guess. This was her friend.

The shopkeeper beamed at her. "Perfect choice, Dearie!"

Erendriel looked into the owl’s golden eyes, a name forming in her mind like it had always been there.

"I'll named you... Zora."
